Ambiguity set aside, a neutral jump can be another mindfuck tool. A lot of people tend to think you’re gonna go for an empty jump throw when you neutral jump, so play with it
There’s one I didn’t think of for Cammy. Very interesting.

So I was just experimenting ibuki’s sweep and found a nice kunai setup:
st.MP sj.Kunai. Tried it for a few time, the only reversals beating this were Chun Li’s EX SBK, Cammy’s EX Cannon Spike and Blanka’s EX upball.
Oh, and it also beats backdashes. What up.

vids or it didn’t happn.
Will do as soon as I finish my dinner =)
Must be a long ass dinner.
I decided to play Mass Effect 3 intead(and finished the game I’m always sad when I finish such great games and… I haven’t been that sad for a long time. This is honestly probably the greatest trilogy I’ve ever played).
Will do today =)
PS: I’m observing Ramadan so yes, I take long-ass dinners these times

Seems pointless to learn because it’s so dependent on spacing. I think you need a sweep setup with a dash to normalize the spacing, which will basically just turn it into an instant kunai vortex setup.
Speaking of which, when did instant kunai vortex go out of style? I dunno why I don’t use it more often.
That’s not a meaty kunai. And doing a sweep that close is extremely unsafe on small hit boxes:(

Mingo:
As far as I have tested, this setup works if you land behind your opponent, the setup works. ie. if you are not at max sweep range. otherwise you can replace this st.MP by a walk forward, but this of course won’t be reliable.
I still use instant kunai vortex, don’t know why you stopped
Niko:
I don’t see what’s bad in using not meaty kunais, except the fact that the opponent can focus dash out of it. Non-meaty kunais help me kunai vortex a Viper reliably for example, and are also a huge help against Sagat (neckbreaker - b.MP - sj. kunai, taking advantage of his crappy backdash, he can’t just focus backdeash out of it)
Well the only time I use non meaty kunais is when i’m trying to bait out a specific reversal like Gouken’s counter or ex seismo or something like that, that beats a meaty kunai. Other than that whenever I land a sweep I’ll usually go for the target combo into a mix up or bait, or I’ll just go for our standard “Super” kunai vortex which was more ambiguous in my opinion anyway. Being that a max range sweep is almost the same distance as our “super” neckbreaker. Or you can always go for an ambiguous jumping mk.

Who needs kunais when you have unblockalols (on CViper).
Didn’t Ibuki’s unblockalols loose to EX burn kick? Or am I just confusing?
Ibuki’s unblockalols loses to HP TK (dp). Burn kicks are too slow and you’ll recover in time to option select whatever you want, including block.
Yeah, confused, it was HP TK, so I can’t just abuse unblockalols =)
So how do you guys go about practicing your vortex in training mode? Mash DP with Yang?
Or with Ryu. Or with Cammy. You have to make sure it works against a given character =)
Other than that, I often practice by setting Ibuki on player 2, doing the actual setup, and then trying to mash something as P1 to see if the setup is good or not. This is also how you should practice your unblockalols
Honestly I just practice it during live matches, it seems to stick better that way. It’s much more dynamic to test it against a live opponent, and watch how they react, see what works, what doesn’t work, etc etc.
But then again I despise training mode, so take that with giant bags of Morton’s salt.
What exactly do you need to practice for your vortex? Timing? Safety? Control of crossup/noncrossup? Reacting to/punishing your opponent’s escapes? etc.
