Don’t apologize about not showing up. You’re always welcomed to my place when ever you want to show up. I understand it’s the summer and there is a lot more going on. So don’t worry everything is chill:)
Maybe like the Casey Anthony trial prosecution team who mistakenly overcharged the crime with a death penalty murder, I over exaggerated the idea that Mortal Kombat 9 actually still has a strong scene. The wish is to make the scene for MK9 at my place as exciting as the scene for MVC3 and AE. But I must concede that this does not hold true for reality. If there is no strong overall scene in the So Cal area then there probably will be no scene at my place lol. I accept that and I want you to know that I will not pull the plug on MK9 yet. It deserves it shot to stay here until EVO. Actually it will probably will stay here until mid August until 3SO comes out.
So how much are the DLC characters? I might check them out.
Oh ya I can’t believe some people like There Will Be Blood better than Gangs of New York. The Butcher in the G’s of NY is the original character while the main character in There Will Be Blood is a low tier carbon copy (Same actor btw). TWWB is just such a simple on the nose story while Gangs is far more complex and original. The Butcher has way better dialogue also. But to each his own I guess.
My favorite quote was from last week with Sanchez and Neighbor’s Random Girl #1.
“Oh FUCK THAT DUDE, cmon, you only live once!”
“… Yeah, and you only die once, too.”
As much as I keep trying to play Marvel at home, even though I am complete ass at it still, it’s really hard for me to sink my teeth into it with the Wolverine shenanigans and then Phoenix. Not to mention the seemingly little effort it takes to do what they can and just abolish an entire team. And then X-Factor.
@ Don
The DLC characters for MK9 are $5 a piece, but you can get a season pass for $15 which includes the two characters that are currently out (Skarlet & Kenshi) and the two upcoming characters (Rain & an unknown character). So you basically save $5 if you get the season pass. They also release a compatibility pack with each character release, which has the latest patch & new costumes for some characters.
zzzzzzzZZzzZZ sounds like another “this game is too easy” speech. top tier is present in all games if you cant get past the basic scrub tactics, well the game isnt going to be fun to begin with. i would normally say play someone you really like and learn to get around that shit, but marvel 3 requires a decent team dynamic where you cant just pick and choose just anyone to be in a team. So i say formulate a good team then and learn to get around that shit lol. wolvie has bad matchups and can be countered easily. and pheonix is well, phoenix.
Tonight we shall have a gathering. Anyone and everyone is invited. I’ll be going around to collect the $5 E fee so please have it ready when I ask for it. Anyone new please text me at 310 344 9367.
Don’t read into what I said too much, because I wasn’t going anywhere near to say the game itself is too easy. Wasn’t even going anywhere close to approach a discussion on it when everything you said it is already common knowledge for anyone that’s into the cross over team games. I may have said the game felt too easy when I was playing it at Best Buy before it came out, but I haven’t said that since day two of the release, so, no, not a “dis game iz 2 ez” speech.
i feel like complaining about balance and cheapness is fun in real life with friends, just like complaining about politics and sports. it’s really pointless and relaxing and gives people something to talk about while they eat hamburgers
but on the internet everyone gets serious and starts arguing about sirlin.net and quoting seth killian and referencing players that are like 50000x their skill level and i don’t really care for that anymore.
I don’t know. I care for the games I’m involved with, and the only one I’m probably not involved with is actually MK and don’t even ask me why, but when I read through message forums like SRK, eventhubs, or even those related to World of Warcraft or Starcraft 2, my care for the games are untouched, it’s my care for the individuals that falls really really fast.
Unrelated to this, I’ma watch X-Men First Class if I can’t end up making the trip out tonight because of a family yard sale this weekend. Maybe after I’ll pull out a bottle of Crown Royale and nit pick the movie afterwards.
