Doesn’t matter if it is only 2 players. Makes it easier to share the item drops that way.
Last time I was able to have a 4 player game of D&D, it was every man for himself for all the items. What made me even more irritated by it is that some items were character specific and as I tried to pick it up, the other dude would just be hoarding over it as if it will do something. It didn’t.
Also: I don’t watch Basketball, but GO HEAT!!

What do you think about the Capcom Alien Vs Predator? Have you played it? Is it just a regular beat up game or is there more to it? Some people say that the story is great.
Ah, that one is a fun one.
It is more of a regular beat em up in comparison to the RPG like Dungeons and Dragons. The gameplay is very fluid though and IMO, I think it is a slicker game than Final Fight. Then again, it is kinda unfair to compare the two since Alien vs Predator came out 5 years later. Combos and grabs are super good. Being able to have choice of either humans or predators is pretty damn cool.
One thing that always bothered me when it comes to beat em ups is the sense of depth in the game. You think that you are hitting something but you just swing and miss every time. Current beat em ups like Castle Crashers struggle with this. Aliens vs Predator on the other hand made it great.The hit detection is good too, it feels as though you are actually hurting stuff and not just gently slapping them.
As far as story in a beat em up goes, its a fun one. Don’t expect Schindler’s List style writing, but it sure if a fun one in Aliens and Predator lore. It has cutscenes that aren’t just still portraits.
IMO, it is a better story then both Aliens vs Predator movies. But that isn’t saying much 
EDIT: I forgot to mention, it too also has 4 player co-op. Since you have D&D and you are thinking of getting this, why not search the internet for a 4P cabinet?
Isn’t AVP just 3 Players max? I don’t think it’s 4 players but I could be wrong. I’m currently working on finding a four player cabinet but it probably will take time.
I just keep on hearing good things about AVP. It might of been Capcom’s last fighter.

I’m going to bring my laptop and we’ll set up a side scrolling beat em ups section! I got Rockman vs Bass, though that’s more like a megaman fighting game. It plays like a side scroller though.
AvP was tight but I think I was too young to really enjoy it anymore than damn fuck yeah, “I’m getting to use predators!” Right now, my mind is on getting on dat DnD, though. What’s up with everyone? How have you guys been since I was last around? Everything good for everyone?
I am currently watching the manchurian candidate and kicking it. Might be getting a data entry position soon, so I’ll likely become an every single time regular over here. Kinda excited!

I don’t know if it was capcom, but The Bouncer for ps2 was one of these. That game was pretty tight!
You know what, I think you are right. Alien vs. Predator is 3 players, but I do remember that you can pick out of a possible 4 characters in AvP (2 Humans and 2 Predators)
The Bouncer is still one of my favorite beat 'em up games that I’d play now even. And for being an on release game that coincided with the PS2’s release, I was pretty amazed by the graphics. Let’s make that clear, GRAPHICS, not the rag doll physics that followed after Sion’s trademarked insane upper cut to everyone, even the robots. Unfortunately, The Bouncer was not Capcom, it was Square. Character designer was the same guy that did FF8, which was why Sion had such a resemblance to Squall, I THINK.
I’d still play any side scroller beat 'em up game. Compared to what we have available now, you can’t beat good old fashioned mindless fun. Which reminds me. Super Mario RPG is just so godlike compared to half of the RPGs we have now. FACT.
