Don's Arcade aka Astro City: Torrance/Carson Fridays 8pm-3am

SOoo high

When will the Playstation Store be up. Kinda worried that it won’t be up for the AE DLC. What is that like 2 weeks from now?

It was said to come back up this week, but the end of May at the latest. We can only hope that actually ends up being true.

Just to get this out of the way:

I’ll be running another MvC3 tourney this friday, same idea. Might raise the fee to $3 to make the pot more enticing.

Tourney format will be based on the total numbers of people who participate
+10 Double Elim
-10 Round Robin (just a 1 pool this time, since I the pools were too small last time)

See you folks Friday!

your lucky me or UPA aint going this friday. =P

you’re all lucky.

Tomorrow we shall have a gathering. Everyone and anyone is invited. Anyone new please text me at 310 344 9367.

Hope to see you tomorrow.

There has to be someone on srk.com in So Cal that knows how to fix arcade monitors. If you know how please come forth. I will pay you depending on the price:)

Well I have a dilemma. When AE comes out, you guys think it will be popular? I think it will and if it is I don’t think one AE setup is enough (or is it?). On one hand one AE setup is good because it means it will be more competitive. On the other hand it might get too crowded.

I’m asking this because if I put another AE setup I’m going to have to take out MK9. I like MK9 and I want there to be an MK9 scene here but if AE gets popular again I fear MK9 will be out. If however there are more MK9 players here and the quality of MK9 play gets higher and more MK9 pros start joining us then I’ll leave it in and just have AE and MK9 players battle on one setup.

Or I always could just take out one MVC3 and just have one MVC3 in…

But seriously I hope the MK9 following here grows and more players join so that it will be worthy of having a permanent setup.

Just a mere observation, looking at the post times in this thread, we have a LOT of nocturnal people here.

As far as the set up of games, my opinion will always be AE over MK9. Now to give a non-bias explanation as to why, it’s simple to me; I just see a lot more attention and focus given to that game at EVO over MK9. In general I see more love given to it over MK, if only because the latter is a revival and throwback, where as SF has more ground? I could be wrong and maybe not seeing the entire perspective, but that’s just what I’ve seen from a few past tournament streams.

Or maybe it has everything to do with me not being a MK fan, and yes, I have played the game already. No, it did not flow with me. :frowning:

Might go with usual peeps, still unsure.

We shall have a gathering tonight from 7pm-4am. Everyone is invited. The more the merrier. I’ll be going around to collect the $5 E fee so please have it ready when I ask for it. Anyone new who’d like to join please text me at 310 344 9367.

Hope to see y’all tonight.

For the record there are 4 set ups as usual: 2 MVC3, 1 SSF4, and 1 MK9. And of course all the other arcade cabinets in the other room.

I’m be late tonight guy’s, I have to go get some drugs and alcohol to bring with me, oh and i am bringing my racist buddies along with me i thought don and them would get along well.

Racists? Drunks? This is gonna be a fun night.

Holy shit, I thought I had posted under a different screen name for a second. Then I noticed my racist buddies take me instead of me taking them so this couldn’t have been me.

I think you’ll see a big turnout tonight Don.

Got 4 players from the Valley here who specialize in Vampire Savior, MK9, and MVC3. Vampire Savior night!!!

Rusty as hell but had some fun in SSFIV. Beast Australian player…COMPLETELY different level of play.

Tonight was another monster night with twenty eight people. Thank you everyone for showing up and making it another fun event. It’s amazing that we had one of the top SSF4 players from Australia join us. Thanks for joining us Mike. I hope you enjoy your stay in So Cal. Mike got like 40 wins in a row in SSF4 with Akuma. Not to mention 39 wins in a row in 3S with Chun Li. He brought his A game here tonight. Thank you also Grant, Nick, Edward, and Carlos (The guys who run the MK9 WNF tourney) for showing up and leveling up MK9 at my place. And again thank you Grant, Nick, Edward, Carlos, ALAX, Rob, Secret Character, Kevin, Kong, Richard, Erosentinel, anewbie, Jint, Charlie, Ronnie, Dustin, Mike, Ramiro, Freakmasta, Kazu, Matt, Absolute, Courtney, Galzpanic, Ken, Nick, Lee, and John.

It was fun. Hope everyone had fun. Everyone enjoy memorial day weekend and I hope to see you guys next week:)
