SF2 has a cool art style where it’s cartoony, but not quite anime. It’s awesome.
Ya I like the classical 2D look of ST. Even though it’s cartoony it tries to look realistic kinda like American comics. The art in the Alpha series is nice but sometimes I think it’s too cute and too anime. But I like it.
Is 3S considered an anime look or something different all together?
But all the Capcom art is cool:)
I think 3S has a more illustrative look. The character drawings look really well done imo.
Hugo’s hair is surprisingly detailed.
So I finished top8 of 50 in MK9 at Wednesday Night Fights. I was eliminated by Floe, who is in the MK finals I think. Took him to match point, but I had no answer for Ermac’s turtle power.
Bumped into some fellow Don’s Arcade goers there. Thanks a ton to Conk and TheAbsolute for letting me use your sticks.
Representing Dons Arcade, good shit man.
Here’s the Mortal Kombat matching making site I set up. I think it’s from the same makers of shoryuken.com. It’s called testyourmight.com
Don’s Arcade Torrance Fridays 7pm-4am: SSF4, 3S, ST, A3, CVS2, MVC2, MVC3, & MK9
Check it out.
damn good shit judotrip! yo i hope to see you at don’s soon, my friend and i are both trying to get hella competitive in mk9, we need to get some games in
So does that mean you wont be hosting on Saturdays anymore?
I’m down, I’ll be there whenever the next event is at Don’s. Planning on hitting WNF again this week.
If you guys have XBL we can get some games in on there, though MK9’s netcode is pretty godawful.
XBL: andrewroq
just let me know who you are
haha our xbox red ringed, so now we play on ps3, and obviously the whole psn thing has been keeping us offline. but yeah, i’ll probably see you at wnf or dons very soon.
Since it is tournament season. I’ll think about hosting twice a week for now. I’ll let you know.
So guys who want to go both on Friday and Saturday that means you have to pay $5 on Friday night and then $5 again on Saturday night. Some of you (It was like 4 people and I won’t mention who) complained to me that they didn’t like if they came and paid Friday, they had to come and pay again on Saturday. Friday and Saturday are separate sessions so you have to pay each time you come here. Doing this cost a lot of electricity so it is a pretty good deal to only pay $5 for unlimited gaming for one whole night into the early morning. This is the way it is guys. It is fair for the both of us that there is a $5 entry fee for each session. I like everyone and I like hosting but I’m gonna stand firm on this.
Don’t worry I’m not mad. I just want to air this out because this is some of the criticism I got from a few people when I hosted a Friday and a Saturday back to back. Criticism is ok but just know that I’m standing firm on people having to pay $5 for each session. I hope everyone is ok with this. Take care.
$5 for each night is fine, it’s not like it’s supposed to be like the old Sea World event where you buy one day you get a another free. Considering that someone’s going out of their way, using up that much energy in their house, that’s fair enough. You don’t have the money for it? Go money match someone the night before to get the money to come back again, or save money and eat ramen noodles.
Whoever was complaining imo has no dignity.
5 bucks for so many hours of unlimited play is a steal.
People who complain about $5 a night don’t know what its like to drop $20-$30 a night in the arcade. IMO, people who complain about the e-fee should just be banned.
I remember going to FFA with a 20 for the entire night, and I spent at most 10 just playing for games, the rest was MAYBE food, if not left over for late hour games. 5 bucks for an entire nights worth of game, then another 5 for food if you wanted to save money, maybe a dollar or two if you wanted to get a drink from Don. KIDS THESE DAYS, MAN.
Oh, and Don. This might make you happy. http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/6422/292929288.jpg
Lol thank you. I’m loving it.
Regarding the $5. Thanks for supporting me on the $5. But please take it easy on the guys who are concerned about the $5. Don’t bash them too hard on the thread. Don’t want to alienate anyone. I understand $5 is a lot for people and $10 is even more for two days. We already lost a lot of players after I started charging. Ever since I put a fee a lot of guys stopped going here. I just wanted to air it out because I don’t want anyone questioning why they should pay for two sessions. Remember $5 per session is fair.
Well I guess I dont really have a problem with it since I started going when you started to charge.
Btw, Don. Whats your opinion on the Pacquaio vs. Mosley fight? I thought it was kinda lame.
I could see how people think it was lame but since I’m Filipino every Pacquaio fight is exciting. I like how he had the power to knock down Mosley. I honestly thought he wasn’t gonna knock him down. It just shows how strong he is. After beating Mosley, Mayweather is gonna be so afraid to fight him now if he isn’t already.
I like every Pacquaio fight because this is a rare time where a Filipino can claim he is the best in the world at a major sport. I’m just enjoying it while it last because it is coming to an end soon.
Oh I just want to say after doing this for a little over a year and building a wonderful community is that I am a little sad that when I started charging an entry fee to help maintain electricity, some people never came back ever. Some people I understand because they can’t afford it and that’s cool because money is tight. But I know there are some people who think that they’re above paying a fee for unlimited games and they can pay for it. And some of them were good players. Oh well that’s their lost.
Well dont get me wrong, I am a Pacquiao fan. I always enjoyed his fighting style, its just that imo this fight was lackluster. When Pacquiao knocked down Mosley, Mosley got scared and just ran away the entire fight.
Also: LOL I thought you were Mexican or some other Hispanic.
