I’ve only ever dealt with one player who consistently played a proper stun-game Necro with Electric Snake. It’s like you have to push Necro towards mid-screen all game, or else you’re fucked every single time, guaranteed. Outside of Twelve and Sean (Twelve isn’t THAT bad either, honestly), everyone is pretty viable. I think it’s when you start to play against A+ characters where there’s an obvious wall. If there were ever a 4th edition of SF3, I’d only want mid-low tier buffed up, with the super meter system possibly reworked completely. You can’t determine if Twelve needs 1 stock for his SA2 and Ken indefinitely needs 3 for his SA3. WTF kind of logic is this? >:(

For 3S I really don’t believe in tiers since I experienced the Golden Age of FFA in the last decade. It’s one of those you had to be there to believe it. Imagine a place with 10 H2H 3S cabinets and all of them were packed every night. The things these guys were coming up with was amazing. You had unstoppable Remys and Tweleve and you had Hugo there that could parry everything and do six hit combos.
It was great. The attitude these guys had in the way they tried anything and did crazy stuff on 3S was awesome.
I always look to PinoAB7 when relating to Necro play, that dude makes him work.

Oh, BTW, GGXXACPlusR (the fuck man with this name…) is coming out for console AND in arcade. How do you feel about the game being updated and do you think it’s worth supporting? Frankly, this is really hard to ignore, even for me.

The new GGAC upsets me a little because it’s on a new arcade system. Buying Accent Core was very expensive, so knowing that is outdated can be frustrating. I’m not gonna update now.
If I had a lot of money to spend I’d update it. But the new GGAC is gonna require a new different mother and maybe a new cabinet with a LCD since they’re making it HD. So probably no. I’d rather buy the SSF4AE2012 and then KOFXIII cabinet than and updated AC.
What usually happens to boards that become obsolete like this? Do they lose their market value or do they retain it in some fashion or another? I know this is dependent on the game, but I’m not very familiar with the economics. =P
They’re all aftermarket prices and it depends on the seller. For fighting games the trend right now is that they’re expensive. Since fighting games are in demand by collectors they can be pricey since they are rare and they don’t make it anymore. Especially the Capcom ones. Super Turbo, Third Strike, and MVC2 will run you $200-$600. Capcom CPS-2 title in general are getting harder to find hence becoming more expensive. Games like Dungeons and Dragons and Alien Vs Predator are expensive too.
Only cheap games are the Neo Geo since they made a lot and not as popular. And they’re old cheap technology that can easily be bootlegged.
Remember arcade boards were never meant to be collected and they’re hard to find in general so they’re rare and since we as a culture have developed a appreciation for video games boards are becoming treasured items.
I hate no idea they were going to be valued. I just did this as a quirky hobby.

Grant, I’m pretty surprised how well you did against SocalKane. He’s easily one of the best Dudley players around, but you kept up with him like a pro – grats. I didn’t like that DRZ’s Ibuki though. He did all of the things you’re not supposed to do with Ibuki. It’s pretty much like what Ryan told me at SCR: people don’t know how to fight against her. Even JR lost to that guy’s Ibuki because of the gimmicks even though DRZ dropped things I nail 95% of the time. >=/
That Juan guy’s Ryu was sick though. He beat down Pyrolee pretty bad at points. BILLIONS OF Q PLAYERS EVERYWHERE! D8
Lol thanks, I was playing a lot better this tourney than the last two. DRZ’s Ibuki is alright but I think he’s too aggressive so he leaves himself defenseless most of the time. You should come to the next tourney to show who has the better Ibuki =D
Yeah, that Juan dude’s a beast. He bodied many people, myself included, during casuals before the tourney started. He had a 40+ winstreak with Akuma until that Yang player took a game off him.

I like how ALAX plays SSF4. His game is so combo oriented. Makes it looks like SSF4 actually takes skill to play. His Makoto, Viper, Juri, and Ibuki are awesome. I think it’s because he uses the cool characters that makes SF4 look cool.
