I watched Yip Man last night. Thought it was good. I thought it was better then Flash Point but I liked Flash Points fights better. I dunno those Chinese martial arts never look like they have much impact at all, its always comes off as underwhelming to me for some reason. That last fight in Flash Point was hard core ass kicking. That was incredible.
Lookin forward gettin to see Yip Man 2 though. The first was still really cool.
Flashpoint end fight was hardcore as fuck. One of my all time favorite fights.
there were supposed to be 3 ip man films. The 3rd one was the one that was supposed to feature Bruce Lee, but that was pending negotiations between the HK film industry and the Bruce Lee estate.
So the 2nd one was supposed to be based after the 1st one when he moved and made a name for himself there in HK. Prior to teaching Bruce.
Now that Donnie isn’t doing ip man 3, who knows what they changed, maybe doing a combination of 2 and 3 in one film, or just forget about bruce…
demonoid has the unsubbed version of ip man 2 out… gonna wait for subs before I watch it though.
Words can not describe the ass kicking Donnie handed out in that fight, holy shit.

he’s def more interesting than jet li, and def has alot more range than jet. jets got 2 expression…quiet and pissed off. everything else is just a variation of those two.

I love Ip Man! can’t wait to see Ip Man 2 in the US, Donnie yen was my favorite actor since his old school movie “the new big boss” epic fight scene, so quick and smooth and beasty. I can’t get tired of his chinese drama “Fist of Fury” I’ve seen that since i was in elementary and I still watch it up to this day from time to time. I’ve seen one of his film that went way back in 1985? yeah, Donnie Yen is pretty awesome

You guys need to watch more old school films back in 70s & early 80s,
Jet Li doesn’t really get much out of his Hollywood Career. He’s basically just there to show contrast between serious martial arts and Jackie Chan’s martial arts comedies. He really hasn’t had much success breaking out of HK cinema to be an A list star and seriously all that’s holding him back is not being fluent with english. The other part of the problem is that Jet Li can be seriously silly too, but if you wanted to have funny moments with an Asian martial artist in an American movie, you’d get Jackie Chan over Jet Li here and that’s just how Hollywood stigma works.
ive been following jet since i was about 14…i def know about his work pre usa.
Donnie usually plays serious roles so I wouldn’t expect anything different from him usually. But I like him just for his amazing ability to make kicking ass look really awesome.

Ip man 2 was fucking dope and the subs I got were the best ones, but it took me awhile to looks for them, they are a strait translation from the Mandarin version.
