Doctor Doom Combo Thread V2

Seems like I’ll never get the TAC combos down, I can barely start them. But I’ll move on to other things as I’m still very new to the game.

Is the jump l after the laser a link because when I rejump, I can’t connect after
edit: I think the problem is I’m on the ground too long after the j L. I forgot how frame perfect rejumps need to be for tac infinites.

Was messing around with Iron Man a while ago and it seems like airdashing down while in flight gets you at pretty much the perfect height for the infinite. I’d imagine this applies to all airdashers.

Pretty much this, you need to land the j.A low enough so that Doom’s fist can be seen and then jump **immediatly. **Remember that the basic theory of the infinites is that you cancel the recovery of the last air move with a jump so that the cpu thinks you’re still in the air.

So basically, do the re-jump much faster and it should work.

I know how they work. I guess the easiest way is to just hold up during the laser and prebuffer it into the jl.

Can anyone give me some pointers on how to connect the l:, :l:, :uf:air dash, :l:, :l:, :m: xx fly after H foot. It’s been a week and still can’t get timing down. Your help is appreciated.

I have a general question about how to hit confirm from a jumping :m: with Victor. I try to :h: foot dive after it but it isn’t working. Is there a reliable combo that comes from a jumping :m: ?

Super jump Height
j :m:H footdive addf j:m: (land) j :l: j:m: hfootdive addf standing light (crouching light depending on height) c M C H launch combo

Regular jump height
Jm H footdive addf standing light C M C H launch combo

Standing
J M
any crouching normal really

Is this the strongest midscreen we have? ***notations taken from sehmehnovs youtube video.
“j.H footdive, ADDF, c.M, c.H, S, j.L(instant), j.H footdive, ADDF, land, c.M, S, j.L(instant), j.H footdive, ADDF, land, c.M, c.H, S, j.L, j.L, j.H footdive ADDF, j.M, j.M, j.M, j.H footdive, j.S footdive, ADDF, land, s.H, S, j.m, j.m, j.H footdive, j.S footdive, ADDF, whiff a normal to land fast, j.heavy plasma beam, cancel into FINGER LAZERS!”

Cranky|GEX:it wont whiff, if you connect the first plasmabeam the right way[12:47] Cranky|GEX:the trick is, that your opponent has to be a lot higher than you, when you do m into h footdive[12:47] Cranky|GEX:if you hit the plasmabeam the right way, that won’t be a problem[12:47] Cranky|GEX:the right way is, that the plasmabeam hits 2 times so it causes soft knockdown

Is there a way to combo from standing in the corner to reverse them to the same corner? (like magneto can)

Would this still work?

yes, yes it would, thank you.

Note: it’s harder to do off a throw in Ultimate

Concept is still the same.

Also, it does not work on Tron (fuck that character) and is harder to do on really big characters with M once you switch sides, so I’ve switched to doing LM instead.

There’s a version with less M’s
SJ :m:(2 hits) ADDF :m:(1 hit) -side switched- J :m: :h:footdive addf c/s :l: c:m::h:s:s:

You can always just footdive over them if it’s off a back grab. Or if it’s off an actual confirm (ie. c.L, c.H), just do the Sehmehnov combo from post #190, that brings you corner to corner and is only 18k (if I recall) off the most damaging combo you can do in the corner anyway.

I believe Marlinpie did some side switch shenanigans with Doom similar to his Viper one during the break/salty battles. If anyone know at which time it was in the either of archive it’d be awesome since I spent the last hour or two trying to find it without avail.

*I believe it was different than the one above and seemed a bit more consistent, might be my memory failing me though since it was around 4 in the morning my time.

The one I posted is pretty damn consistent unless you are blind. It’s a very simple visual cue based combo. I’m pretty sure I saw marlinpie do the one I posted at the most recent break. Marlinpie is also known to not always use the most optimal doom combos.

You’re correct the one above is very consistent especially the more I perform it, I also looked through the archive and I did indeed mistake it for something else.

Cheers

Edit: When I tried it after seeing the video I did:m:(2) addf :m:(1) -side swap- j.(up) :m:(2) :m:(1-2) f.:h::s: addf st.:h:…
but I’m guessing with your notations you get one more loop? nevertheless I’ll try it out in training mode when I get the chance.

Can you guys do a video. So I can see what the combo looks like. If its not problem for you guys.
