double hitting photon array is a hitbox thing. Not every character eats the full damage.

I’m trying to improve my Doom by learning his better bnbs and I’m having a bit of trouble with the one I’m learning for midscreen. I’m trying to learn the second one on this video. Only problem is that I can’t seem to do it off of a throw. Is it possible or should I do something else?

Throw combos are different than regular combos. You’ll have to look for a specific throw combo.
I think that vid has the relevant ones though.

im just curious when are maziodyne loops useful other than the obvious?

I was fucking around and was starting to think of throw combos etc that you may not be able to sneak 4 reps in but maybe 3 then the ending reps and before i spend time labbing i was wondering if anyone knows any situations.

Example: i saw ray ray hard tag from mag into mazio then ending loop

I know of mid screen(F+H, cr mp, S)/corner (F+ H, S) mazios vs grounded opponents and thats it.

Corner throws, corner air throws, Midscreen throws, Midscreen Air throws, and Raw tags make me curious


Also one last question. Are their general rules for air confirms vs aerial opponents? I know how to confirm vs an aerial opponent at all highs at a basic leve but I see some crazy shit by top level doom players that makes my think “WTF just happened”

I have a rough idea for some basic stuff but if there are any know tips i would appreciate it

General rule is use a confirm that doesn’t end in S. Footdive. Those aren’t too good, even though they kinda work.

Sorry if this is written anywhere, but does anyone have notations for the confirm off of hardkick that full schedule did this weekend?
Its off of a hardkick dash cancel normal jump. Kinda hard to explain. I’ve seen Marvelo do this confirm as well.

You do Hardkick and dash cancel upforward for pressure. If the Hardkick hits, you airdash up, M H(buttergun), land, jump forward M H footdive ADDF into ground chain to transition into a bnb

mmmmm nice good find. what i tried a few times was just doing hardkick and superjump if it hit, but this is way better. im gonna try doing this

I’m pretty inconsistent with Doom’s midscreen loops. Normally I use m for my whiffed normal because that’s what I find easiest in the corner. But lately I’ve shifted to trying H for the whiff normal in my mid screen loops. It seems more consistent. Are the other normals bad for the midscreen loops when whiffing a normal?

What’s the easiest way to side switch at the end of a bnb to allow DHC to Magnetic Shockwave?

You should side switch with an assist extension, anything that ends with a S footdive should work.

extension, j.S, adf, j.S (Doom lands on other side), *Photon Array, DHC Magnetic Shockwave. That’s the simplest way afaik, you can occasionally get more damage after the side switch but you’ll find that out.

Yeah, something like j.MFootdiveFootdive > addf S.Footdive [land] tk Photon Array would be the easiest.

Can you consitstently use assist extensions with this? Specifically using MODOK’s assists?

I don’t think so, but I don’t see why you’d have to, either.

Mayyybe some Balloon Bomb assist shenanigans can be fit in there?

You don’t get much with Dok’s assists. Here’s what I do with blaster if I want a Sphere Flame ender: (land, call blaster, jump, addf, st.H(1), H rocks, Sphere Flame).

What enders do people do with Bolts? I usually just go for something simple like (land, call bolts, st.H(2), H beam, Sphere Flame). A more optimized version I’ve been practicing is (land, call bolts, st.H(2), dash/jump up, j.S, add, st.M(1), H beam, hyper).

I finally have those (S, j.L, H dive, addf, cr.M) loops down consistently enough. I was forgetting to whiff a normal after the dash lol.

You can do \ / Call Bolts, s.H(2), 1st Bolt hits xx L Plasma Beam, 2nd Bolt hits H Rocks xx Sphere Flame (or Lv3).
