It’s something i’ve been working on, I try to not get bothered by things that I find silly. In fact my biggest weakness is letting shit get to my head and losing focus. So for me it is absolutely necessary to stay neutral.
Ryan Hart says that having a cold attitude is necessary.
Yeah, I usually play better when I’m calm and thinking clearly but its not uncommon for some players to perform better when they are pissed (Ricky Ortiz comes to mind).
I’m always emotional when I’m playing. That emotion is usually joy. The other day I started laughing my ass off when someone quit on my during the middle of my ultra animation, and usually I’m smiling any time I find someone on my level and play a few matches with them.
And then I come across a Juri and just get a bit grumpy.
Dunno about much else, though. I mean, the times I play other fighting games, I’m either facing people who utterly outclass me, like when I started playing SF3, or people that just don’t get fighting games and are easy to beat or just spam things.
Though there was that one time I was in a Smash Bros tournament when I was 16 and I managed to anger the former Washington champion by repeatedly bouncing off her head with Link’s sword. Let’s just say I fared far better in the Mario Kart tournament than the Smash Bros one.
I usually play better after I get ticked off or annoyed, the moment when I realize that it’s still just a game, and I began to get my focus back and turn the fight around in my favor.
