Do YOU do any Martial Arts?

ive switched from 100% denim to having at least some sort of 1% spandex/polyester mix. i can dance, trick and kick in them all…plus i wear alot of joggers now too.

Soft, stretchy pants are the best thing ever

mine arent soft…they feel like normal denim jeans. plus i aignt trying to get fuckin soft pants feelin like sweats…im black…if i see a hot girl walk by its noticeable as fuck

Eh, i wear these jeans that look like jeans, but feel like some super soft sweats

I mostly wear chinos or cargo shorts, since my work is really casual about attire.

My jeans are regular fit anyway since I have long legs and thicc thighs.

I’m always wearing boxing gloves, especially when doing work around the house trimming roses, reading newspapers on the streets of london (this the true love we makin), driving around in my Rolls Royce calling people gutter trash.

When have I fought anyone on PCP?

Boxing is so natural that wearing gloves is like second nature ~ Emanuelb - Kata expert

Punching is natural. Boxing is not.

You said you’ve fought drug addicts. It’s a fair extrapolation.

Boxing is only natural if you train 24/7

Like most martial arts, oddly enough.

The punch is easier to learn, but harder to perfect. The low roundhouse is more forgiving in terms of generating power under stress.

The leg is by definition a larger and heavier weapon than an arm, and people do not generate optimal striking power under duress.

Plus, if you go for the inner thigh, you have the added benefit of accidental groin shots.

I mean, everyone should know both. A swift smack behind the ear may be all it takes for someone to back off.

Dude says you are constrained by the rules

But trains no contact karate

It is hilarious

Push kicks and knees are good in street fights and while you might wear soft stretchy pants, lots of people wear chinos or jeans or something else comfortable and fashionable and those kind of pants aren’t made for fighting.

That’s because lots of people don’t consider the implications of their clothing, in general, not just in a self-defense context.

Chinos and jeans work fine. It’s all about the fit, not the material.

I can do head high jump kicks in any pair of pants I own, and they’re not going to split. Basic low kicks are not a problem.

That post was directed to Angelpalm, not you.
As for the comparisson, kicking is harder to learn than punching, that’s why I believe boxing is easier to learn than other martial arts.

Anyway, my point is simple: why learn boxing, that only teaches you how to punch, instead of learning something like muay thai, karate or kung fu, that also teaches you how punch, but also kicking, kneeing, using the elbow, etc

also @daboog: I never said anything about wing chun or aikido.

My husband swears by chinos as well.

So does mine gurl!!! Teehee!!!

Sounds like y’all need you a pair of these…

Yea, those jeans will keep my balls from getting squished while kicking. It’s a real problem.

I always buy clothes through the lens of needing to disengage and run from an unexpected fight.

Streets: Disengage, run, 911, pint

Yet you are talking nonsense against boxing, footwork, fundamentals, the clinch, head movement, defense?
