what about dizzy don’t people consider her low teir.
She’s okay, IMO. I can’t use her for crap, but I just lack the style of play she requires. She has some set-ups, and her EXs will own, but overall someone here can probably give a better opinion. I doubt she’s low, though.
Believe in? Nope. I do acknowledge that every game has tiers though.
chipp, useless? rofl. shin kensou (i think that’s his name) brings the ownage with chipp. i also use chipp, but i suck (bridget and chipp are my best). anji also has some good shit with that butterfly fireball of his, a lot of high/low mixups.
edit: as for dizzy, i think she’s mid/mid low. my tier list goes
(FOR #RELOAD, in no order)
top - slayer, robo ky, jam, eddie
high mid - sol, bridget, millia, faust
mid - everyone else
low mid - johnny*
low - zappa, may, anji
*for johnny, i wouldn’t know (hell, i never even PLAYED #reload yet because it’s never anywhere to be seen), i heard he lost a lost of his setups
dude on romancancel.com they translated the arcadia tier lists. dizzy is ranked high.
it goes:
God: Eddie
Top: Slayer/Jam
2nd: Dizzy/Robo/Millia
Yes, unless you’re playing VS or VF4.
I think teirs just mean a character can do more or has something that makes them really stand out, ease of play has nothing to do with it
GGXX example: Slayer is a beast, easy combos, MASSIVE damage, teleport BS, unblockables. k, now imagine all his big easy combos werE REALLY FUCKING hard to do, took same meter, same setup, but a lot harder to execute, and his teleport cancel punch was VERY hard to do, like you had to do godly fast for it to work, would he still be top? most likely
Teirs in Reload in my oppinion are-
TOP~ Eddie, Jam, Robo-Ky, Slayer
High Mid~ Bridget, Johnny, Millia, Venom, Sol
Mid~ Axl, Baiken, Ky, Potemkin, Dizzy, Faust, Chipp, I-no, Testament,
Bottem~ May, Anji, Zappa
playable(WHAT REALLY MATTERS)~ EVERYONE!
:tup: :party: :encore: :karate: :rock::nunchuck:
How the hell do you forget Sol in a tier chart for guilty gear? Thats like, sacralige.
Tiers will always exist in fighting games, period. Yes, in some fighting games, it’s more difficult to notice, however, we should all agree than in other fighting games, they are very noticeable. Take Tekken 4 for example, say a Top Kuma player takes on a Top Jin player…needless to say, we already know where this is going, even with equal skills, we know that Jin has far more safe setups and attacks on Kuma, hell, Jin can abuse JFLS on Kuma like a whore because the bear can barely SS as it is…so to make sure T4 Jin JFLS/Parry>>>> all of Kuma’s moves.
I do agree, skill plays a very intricate roll, Tier’s aren’t based nearly upon the skill of the player, but upon the character within the game, NOT the player. Your telling me that in 3S Q has far more safer options and abusable moves then Ken? Or that in SSF2T Zangief has a 50/50 match against Akuma? This is why Tier’s exist, because they display characters who are overpowered, has abusable tatics, safe options, if a Ken player fights a Q player, technically Ken has a better chance of winning because Ken has more options gamewise, this does not however contradict the skill of both the players. Tier’s do have a reason, in most fighting game’s, the majority of the tournaments held for them are won by Top Tiers. Skill plays a part, but if I take on an opponent who has equal skill to me, and I choose MSP while they have Servbot/Roll/Hayato…the match is definetly in my favor, reasons why there will always be tiers.
Everytime I am in the air and eat an ex hurricane kick to double shoryuken in the corner I am reminded of why ken is top tier
It’s comment’s like these that make me wonder “Do people actually play Guilty Gear?” :shake:
This is a rather out-dated tier list.
Kind of like what Sex)packets said, the tier list goes as followed:
S* - Eddie
A - Jam, Slayer
B - Robo, Millia, Dizzy
C - Bridget, SOl
D - Axl, Faust, Venom
E - Potemkin, I-no, Johnny, Bakien
F - Ky, Testa, Zappa, May
G - Chipp, Anji
This tier list is posted at Romancancel.com
EDIT:
Thats what everyone thought about Zappa from last year’s SBO tourny, and look what happened.
To bad there are not Anji’s this year.
Top Tiers
3s:Sean and Twelve
CvS2: Kyosuke (sp?) and Dan
MvC2: Roll
A3: X ism good game

CvS2: Sagat /w low fierce Cammy Blanka A-groove Sakura
3s: Ken, Yun, Chun-li–> it takes a lot of skill to use her normals correctly
A3: V-ism… omg it sucks

LOW TIERS ^^^^^^^^
3s top tier:dudley
thats really all u need to know.
I believe tiers exist, but it’s not always what’s posted on some message board. ever hear the expression “there’s always someone better”? thats because tactics and people are constantly changing, the best can never actually stay the best because there’s too much shit to explore. you may have been a god 2 weeks ago, but you’ll be a fuckin newb without exploration. that’s how powerful these changes are. tiers are about using a char the best way it could be used – with human skill. i haven’t read any tier arguments, but i think thats how they start, people forgetting that humans are limited. for instance, say that someone were to say Juggernaut of XvSF is the best char in the game. if there were humans out there with reflexes so fast and sight so clear that he could actually dodge and punish Jugg’s attacks perfectly, the game would have to be played completely different because they changed the game. now, only the chars with the quickest attacks are high tier. thats an example of tiers changing
Tiers change a lot because the actual gameplay changes. certain things just become more important than others. but don’t always think that because someone puts a char in a tier doesn’t mean your low tier char cant beat some other guy’s high tier char. all tiers do is list the chars that prosper the most with the current style of play; they do NOT always mean that the highest char on the chart will always decimate the lowest char on the chart. sometimes that just doesn’t hold true, even at top level play.
At tournaments, I can understadn why people put stock in tiers. I mean, you’re playing in front of a shitload of people for MONEY. Hell, I’d pick Sagat, Blanka and Sakura or Cammy too in CvS2 if it’ll get me the win at a tourney(never been to a tourney, but this is common sense here).
However, in casual play or whatever, pick who you want. Tiers do exist, there’s no denying it. I play Bloody Roar, and there are even tiers in that game. Uranus is considered the most broken character, with Uriko a close second. Does that mean a Stun or Ganesha player has no chance in hell of winning? Fuck no. Just means you’re gonna have a hard uphill battle, and you’ll have to figure out whatever weaknesses both characters have, and do your best to exploit their weanesses, and cover up yours, and capitalize on any errors they make.
Denying tiers is stupid, but obsessively picking chars simply because they are top tier and not even trying to make your own strategies and just copying what you saw someone else do is lame. People thought Kyo was shit in Cvs2, but people(japanese players) played and toyed around with him and noticed he had some good stuff to use. That is how people should approach games, give the chars a chance before making judgements.
Hell yeah I believe in, acknowledge, and sometimes abuse tiers.
Every fighting game has some sort of tier, though sometimes it’s unreliable and even completely misleading to make a tier list. In GG, everyone is freakin top tier until you actually get somewhere in the general region of awesome. Pay too much attention to tiers and you’ll end up playing shot for the rest of your life, how freaking boring is that. Most of the better fighting games don’t even have notable tiers until you start dissecting the game; of course, some have the most obvious tiers in the world (not pointing any fingers).
People make way too much of a big deal of tiers, they’re aren’t really even there to find out who has the easiest win. Sure that’s what we use them for, but really, tierlists are made when the top players get together to find out what the characters can do. Then they’ll find out that some characters aren’t as good as they thought they might have been.
It doesn’t really matter to me though, I’m just a no name guy who’s never even been to a tourney, much less competed.
In boxing they say styles make the fight and it’s no different in FGs. And yes I believe in tiers, but it all depends on how you use your characters. Sagat will beat kyosuke on paper always but if kyosuke knows sagat really well he can win, it’s just harder. I see bad players beat good players and great players beat great players because of lack of matchup knowledge.
