I have been telling Doug at Foe Hammer to build a Happ stick for the past couple months. He is just hesitant there isn’t enough demand for it. If you guys want Happ/Mas style boxes let him know via email, facebook or instgram. You don’t have to commit to purchasing anything, just let him know that there is a market for HAPP cases and that it would be cool to see FH make cases for them.
It’s easy to build a stick DIY under $200 depending on your needs skills. The only part that is pricey is if you need a dual mod PS4/xbone and need to buy PCB.
As a PC only gamer a delay free USB encoder is $12… Console chips with dual mod $50-150 easily. Paying Sony and MS tribute for a licensed chip is the priciest part.
An MDF case is easy to build, a formica laminate, vinyl cover cheaply makes them look clutch. If you need a console support you can do a pad-hack for under $20 with a little dutiful ebaying.
That’s $95 and I can cut corners on that, now that said you need skills and tools. I went ahead and bought a Atrox yesterday for $80 because I am without a quality saw and a soldering gun atm, but I am still going to mod it and end up with exactly what I want as far as custom art, aluminum bat top, hitbox switch and I will still be at less than $100. (maybe not after shipping.
My bad, had no clue Happ sticks went for so much. I prefer a battop myself and just always figured it was a topper/gate fix. What’s the purpose on a powered stick like that?
In all seriousness, it’s just a preference thing. The Perfect360 is just another joystick, but as with all other sticks, its got its own unique feel, and there really isn’t anything on the market that feels like a Perfect360.
The acrylic window does slightly decreases the interior space of the case so he did express some concern about it possibly touching if the acrylic flexed while on his lap. He also got an all metal bottom just in case but I don’t think he switched to it. I think he just got it as a backup plan.
