these post-09ers dont know shit about victor
=[.
You would think all that marvel would teach you about combining the right partners together (3 commentators at once!?).
Balancing introductory commentating (for the newcomers), high level commentating (for experienced players), and ‘hype-factor’ is what is helpful. Some combinations of commentators make a great balance and some commentators by themselves are already decently balanced by themselves. Also fgames that are maybe a little more shallow would definitely have to deal with some shallower commentary I’d wager.
I think I’d do pretty good at commentating but the games I like don’t really have much of a scene around here/in U.S.
I’d be ass at pro commentary. I’d just repeat memes and give play-by-play.
Nina and Persia?
What about them?
i think their commentary is valuable to the fgc since their aren’t enough females in the fgc to begin with. but i do find that they wonder off topic from time to time
Well, that’s not just them. All commentators sometimes talk about things not related to the match, especially if they were talking about it before they began. Takes a while for them to realize there’s a match.
As for them, they have some nice commentary. Haven’t heard enough to make something definitive, though.
what are you talking about
i probably should have said females in the fgc that actual appear on streams. cuz i can only think of two that ive ever seen but i can’t remember their names
I think if they picked two commentators per game, maybe one who’s a player and can drop the knowledge, and have another who’s more entertaining, it would provide a good balance of analysis and entertainment. JR and The King were exactly who came to mind when I clicked on this.
You know what it looks like when you put a female on stream just because she’s female and not because she happens to be the best commentator in the room? (Which is NEVER the case)
It looks like a joke. A worse joke than Chen’s puns.
If the community wants to be more open, it needs to judge everyone by the same standards. You do something well, you get respect. You should not get any special treatment just because of what’s between your legs.
Of course that will never happen cuz nerds are so horny that even Sherry turns them on.
Didn’t expect to get so many likes for that comment.
Yes, why not? Commentators exist to give play-by-play on what’s happening, or to explain why something happened (this is especially important). A good commentator can add to the excitement of a match.
Sorry to quote something from a bit over a week or so back, but you’re not alone in thinking this.
Actually, in my wildest fantasies… Jim Ross would be available as a DLC commentator for every fighting game. Listening to him mark out to insane anime-fighting moves would be great. “Bah gawd! IZUNA DROP! IZUNA DROP!!!11one” I’ve been considering seeing if I can get him to do a few voice-overs like this for non-profit use, just because it’d be a lot of fun to have voice clips like that handy.
After watching that Mahvel Baybee video, I could say Yipes is the fighting game equivalent of JR and King.
