What was actually at stake here was the Chinese believing they were descended from Peking Man(either a form of Homo Erectus that made it to Asia or a related species depending on if you’re a lumper or splitter). That would’ve given them a different evolution from the rest of mankind(who originate from the first anatomically modern homo sapiens that appeared in Africa and spread out). DNA research proved that fantasy false, and they are just as related to the first AMHS in Africa as well as everyone else. They are also related to Peking Man(as he is related to all other hominin species), but he is not their progenitor. Saying that makes the first Chinese black is amateur work at its finest; as no modern human population alive is the exact same as those first AMHS in Africa. At best you could say the earliest inhabitants of what would become China were dark skinned, and not apply the USA and Europe’s racial terminology(which in themselves are already loaded with numerous problems).
