Again, how is that any better for us? Your own tournament experience won’t help anyone if you come back here without providing new and useful tech for the rest of us. I mean, what did Marn placing top 32 at Season’s Beatings with an outdated, undedicated Dudley actually do to advance the character’s cause?

You’re still holding tightly to this magical belief that offline play is the only legitimate way of playing and learning the game. Meanwhile, the two highest-placed american players at EVO, Latif and Krone, are said to make extensive use of online play to practice and develop tech. Other top players who are used to the old ways like Alex Valle went on to say that’s the edge they had over the rest of the american competition. In short, stop shitting on online play.

And I’ll stop going off-topic now.

Well, what are you guys doing for yourself? This “outdated undedicated” Dudley is still the only one I see actually doing something, which is sad because not only is Dudley a good character but no one has the cajones to go out and win with him. Theres only one Dudley in my scene, and hes not even active yet hes way better than most the other Dudley’s i’ve seen.

Its the only thing that matters. Online is great for helping you level up, but its not the real deal. Experience offline is at least worth 2x any online experience. Even pllaying the same players gets you better at reading people. Once you can consistantly place top 8, at least, in your local scene, then you’re ready to “graduate” and say that you need online because everyone around you sucks. Even then, you can always travel and play better people all over, and make more money.

I’m gifted to live in Socal where I can play great players often. I also play online all the time too. But its a crapshoot. I win a lot online, but it doesn’t really mean anything. At least compared to offline play.

In short, online and tutorials are nice but going out and just giving your character exposure is better. It’s pretty sad at the lack of that competitve spirit you are implying Dudley player have.

But alas, reply if you want, I’ll stop being off topic now too. I don’t have any Dudley videos to contribute (as they are scarce to begin with)

You need to anti air more. You can’t let people, Guile especially, get away with jumping at you. If I have meter, I always anti air with EX DP unless I can get a lp dp trade or clean hit. Another thing is you don’t hit confirm your FADC’s and you ended up getting counter crumpled. You have enough time when you release a focus to confirm whether you crumpled or not, so dash accordingly. Trade fierce against sonic boom is good in this matchup.

A lot of things I don’t see a lot of other Dudley players do is cr. mp xx MGB after a meaty/counter hit step straight. It’s an additional 140 damage at least, and gets you close for a mixup at +2, which is better than just using HP.

Work on either FADCing booms or ducking through them. There’s no need to take chip in this matchup. Just make sure you’re spacing yourself so that you can’t get punished. I personally use U1, and it works really well offline. Either works though.

Its just an awkward kid, wearing out his welcome by doing a silly dance. All it does is make the whole room cringe at this point. I thought it was funny at first, but once you see him doing it during casuals every time, it gets a bit creepy.

Just to clarify, not knocking his skills at all. Juicebox doesn’t have anything to prove to me in that regard. But he is a bit of a difficult person irl.

Eh, I don’t sweat it that much, its just obnoxious. The sad part is, he never comes out to gatherings or tournaments anymore due to local drama. Having a national level competitor in the local scene would normally be great, but he is never around to play against or learn from.

Not going to get into it farther than this, but he is not particularly well liked in AZ for reasons that exceed his dancing and has nothing to do with losing to him at SF. IRL stuff that I would rather not share on the internet.

Which I personally find sad since he could be a real figurehead for the community in Phoenix, but his actions and stubbornness (along with the stubbornness of others in AZ) have pretty much put the breaks on that. I really don’t mesh with his personality, but I would still rather have him around to play high level SF against than have him continue his semi-self imposed exile.
