Dignity caught on tape: Dudley Video Thread

Both of these are great.

It does do more, but only by like 5 damage. I did mention that he could have just punished with ultra earlier in the post though, but you are right, it does make more sense to just do that and save the meter since you only gain the little extra bit of damage. But he then had another chance to land that same combo afterwords and instead got pushed back out.

Some good tips in his channel.

Not sure if these have been posted yet but was lurking through the Rose forums and found these:

Although it doesn’t look like the competition he faces in some of those videos are at his level of experience, (i think his general knowledge of how to play street fighter wins him many games) he does a REALLY good job of explaining many facets of dudley’s game. In a way it feels as if he brings G.G.'s guide to life and normal application. and for the most part, that guy’s inputs are pretty much on point. The fact that he does drop some combos just goes to show how difficult these damned links are.

cr lk xx cr mk xx lk ducking into throw is beast.

as much as i’d prefer to get cr lk > cr lp >s hk into win, i think i’m going to try to figure out another threat to condition my opponent to be wary of the low attack. the timing for the cr lk > cr lp link is awkward and i really think it throws off the timing for the other stuff like cr lp > cr lp > s hk etc.

My first tournament. As you’d expect, things didn’t turn out well. I’d really appreciate some feedback, if anyone is willing to give it.

Im mos def not the best dudley, you are probably much better with your links etc than me. But from what I seen from the video with both fights you had, you have to score a knockdown. Im not sure if you got a knockdown in either fight. He was very defensive orientated player, but you have get him on the ground so you can mix up after with overhead into ex mgb or throw etc. Basically he was comfortable and you didn’t have any pressure on him and when you did get in you didn’t keep the pressure on.

For me I have exact opposite problem from in your video, I put too much pressure and I eat wakeup shoryu’s etc. I also jump in gentleman’s elbow too much tryna pressure also. But if you can get the right mix to where you have them guessing when you score a knockdown etc. that is when my dudley is at his best.

I’m pretty sure the Guile Dudley matchup is 7-3 guile’s favor lol.

But I mean yeah, the most important thing with defensive type characters (guile, sim, chun li) is you gotta get that knockdown like cobrakai said. if you get in, go for a grab and start your mix up from there. But don’t force you’re way in against guile, that’s how you lose. In all honestly, there’s no really good way of getting in against a good guile, his sonic boom recovery is just too good.

Uhh… fuck guile.

EDIT: It would be interesting to see how someone like Eriken or Dainama handles the Guile match up.

Well, you didn’t have too good of footsies. You seemed to only move forward most of the time. It looked like you were trying to bulldog straight through whatever he was doing, and it didn’t work out too well for you. Try instead a little patience. If you sit across the screen and vertical jump his Sonic Booms, he eventually has to come to you. Also, try not to combo everything into MGB. The opponent doesn’t feel as much pressure if you aren’t knocking them down. Throw in a few EX MGB or Jet Uppers as combo enders, and work on your footsies a little. Maybe try to duck a few SB’s (mind yourself though. Keep the right distance as to not get nailed by a normal, and only do it when you can predict it reliably). It’s kind of annoying when you can’t hit your opponent. Obviously this doesn’t work as well when he has the life-lead, but just some things to work on against turtles.

I found this very impressive video of combos for Dudley but I can’t exactly defin with which buttons those combos are made up ?

I wonder if it’s really possible to do during a high tension versus play ??

Just amazing !!

So uh could I have some feedback?

YEEEEEEEES… YEEEEEEEEEES! This is deeelicious!

Pick ultra2. Don’t duck during block strings when chun has ex/ultra2. learn option selects for her wake up back dash. Set up over head better with tc2 first. Use mk as an anti air. Know your opponents better poke range. good 3x cr hk. if you have super/ultra2 dont be afraid to use it as an anti air. Hope that helps.
