d fist, thanks, i agree…the figure was sorta a last minute thing.
cpt…post your paintings anyway! it’s how we’ll all get better.
anyway here’s my latest. took about 40 min.
anyone have tips on blending? i had the opacity set at like 33% and did the “alt” eyedrop trick. but couldn’t seem to get a good blend.
that candle looks good man. YOu don’t need to blend things perfectly, as long as you keep the edges in mind and how sharp/soft they are. Don’t think of a gradient as a gradiant, think of it as two shapes with soft edges that overlap. You paint in the shapes first then you blend the edges.
Might be a color profile thing. Sometimes when saving to web, colors can shift. If you’re not already in it, try converting to sRGB before saving for web. (edit->convert to profile) See if that does the trick.
Hi RABID… Just gotta ask how do you go about mixing your colours?.. Do you sample (alt key for eyedropper) and then paint?.. You seem to have a hard time mixing up your colours together… If you want a smoother grading from one colour to another I suggest you sample a lot… The Alt key is the sampling tool btw…
Oh, and here’s a practice pear I did last January…
i amm using photoshop, and i do sample my colors. i wish i could see how to apply it better or something!
dunno if i’m using the wrong brush? or brush settings?
