Difficulty/cost of converting a JAMMA arcade cabinet to MAME or standard composite inputs?

Just my two cents, but I’ve found the best bang for my buck was to upgrade the chassis on my monitor to be a multi-sync so it can handle 15KHz arcade boards, and 31KHz VGA. This of course depends on your tube, and they arent cheap, but it’s worth it not having to mess around with video converters, extra adapters, and extra wiring. I even installed a VGA switcher in my cab so I can switch between JAMMA/DC/360/PC.

Another option you can do is buy a Viletim console adapter. It will allow you hook up consoles to your existing jamma harness.

Here is a 360 that is hooked up, so just get an rgh 360 & put emulators on it.(right side)

Or get an old xbox & put emulators on it…Picture is great on it, especially SNES/Saturn.

Hmm, interesting. I’m going to check out another MAME cab (with an LCD monitor) on Friday, if I don’t go for that I’ll definitely look into the Viletim. So if I understand correctly, that would allow me to use the arcade’s native controls? I’ve been planning on doing some MC Cthulhu RJ45 shenanigans to enable on board controls for my older systems

Its just for video. You would need to hack the console controls.
