Oh g2.0 that online only player like emil right? No diss just wondering if we are talking about the same person. Just make sure you don’t confuse my post with DG post. We may like the same game in rbs, but I never said rb2 was boring. Drn never said that rb2 is boring. He plays rb2 better than rbs and now he prefers rbs over rb2. He see the depth in rbs now. We just want other people to give it a try, but it seems like you guys are trying to kill rbs before people get a chance evaluate both games and choose if they like rbs or not. Josh finally said why he would rather play rb2. He said that there isn’t any room for rbs for tournaments with the rest of the snk games being played. There’s only room for 1) game and he feels that rb2 should be the choice. I feel both are tournament worthy. More so than, whp, breakers, or karnovs revenge ever will be, but that’s a personal opinion not based on facts just like you guys saying rb2 is better than rbs!
I think RB2 is more worthy then all 4 of those games, I lump RBS in with WHP/Breakers/Karnov to me, but honestly, for a major tourney- none of those games should bump off a major game. (And I’m including RB2 in that)
Yeah, I’m going to push to have it played in NC some, but NC is really into paring everything down to GG/3s right now, so that will be a tough road- and Shiki’s the only one with a PS2. I think I’ve got a better shot at getting UM played down here- Lu likes 98, and I think Roski would like it. That said, it would be a game that I’ve played enough where I feel I’d stand a chance against them, unlike NGBC/XI.
And so help me God 1.0 RBS will be played at tournaments…I dont care if I gotta break my back at 2 day events…I’m gonna make RBS happen at as many tournies as possible…

Loving every SNK game is kinda the problem here. Quite frankly, they put out a lot of garbage. Especially in their earlier years, which is where they got a bad rap in the community.
That’s why I’ve been encouraging us to focus on the few top-notch titles out there.
And yes, WHP fits into that category. I will say that, for the most part, it is not a game for the older generation; there are a couple traditional SF-style characters like Muscle Power & Erick, but otherwise the game is more of a proto-Guilty Gear. It is more than unique enough, and certainly deep & interesting & balanced enough, to hold up on its own merits, and it appeals to a lot of the younger players who don’t want to sit there and poke & throw fireballs (though you can do that too if you want!).
You should pick KOF95 instead WHP Josh. I never had the opportunity to play WHP because for some reason the game was very unpopular in my city, so I kept with that crazy “I want all your energy now” combo from Broken (low kicks)

just 1 thing, RBS is a rushdown game, but whats the use of rushing motherfuckers down when you cant break their defense with a overhead or tick throws, basically the problem with RBS and RB2, but RB2 does have more mix ups in the game than RBS ever had. which improved the problem to an extend.
also i never said the game (RBS) was boring, i just didn’t like the line shift system in it. its not as bad as that of FF2 and FFS (where you could keep on escaping and jumping away), but playing run away in RBS is far more for the turtlers among us than anything RB2 has to offer for turtlers. also, i was in the same boat about losing the moves in RB2, but some moves where just hella stupid and needed to be removed (mais multi fan). too bad they added some stupid moves in RB2 (mais QCB+C) instead of giving new meaningful moves to the character to spice her/him up or at least replacing the old move with something useful (or at least almost as useful as the previous move). also mai in RB2 isn’t anywhere as bad as some make her out to be, she doesn’t have to be cheap to be effective.
also RBS is tournament worthy, just not as much as RB2. the game isn’t broken or anything.
Garbage to you might not be garbage to everyone else Josh…thats the thing… Top notch to you may not be top notch to others…as you see here not everyone agrees WHP is a top notch game and Larry took heat for putting WHP in FRXII instead of KOFXI, (but most agree Garou, KOF98UM, Samurai Showdown VSP/Tenka is, etc)…that speaks for itself…you can try to convince all you want…people are gonna think what they wanna think…
NeoWave might suck to you but tell that to the droves of XBL players inerested in coming out to EVO World that play it seriously and others… (Fasic, Ash2k4, and others)
For example, Musolini agrees with me that Matrimelee and Waku Waku 7/Ninja Masters are some cool games, though you obviously disagree… proof some people out there like everything… and that there’s a place for everything…may not be actual main tournaments…but thats where I come in…I can make it fit in…hence I handle everything else and you all handle the “main” stuff…
So don’t even debate or argue why you feel RBS doesnt need to be in…thats my area… We’ve got to work together here…meaning I won’t cross into the main games if you all don’t cross into the A Class games/exhibition matches/free tournaments etc…
Also focus is one thing if you have time to run other things…no need to focus if you got time to do other things…I leave the “focus” to you guys… I dont need to focus… (maybe on the games I play once every green moon like WHP/Garou/RB2/Breakers Revenge/FHD)

I don’t want to get off topic, but I will comment on this. Well I’m a fatal fury man. I played wh series very casually and its a very fun game. I just never got into it back in the day. Wh games were the game you played while waiting to get back on the sf2 machine. You would put your token up on the sf2 machine and then go and play wh until your turn was up. There was a wh machine near every sf2 machine in the atl. People would leave their unfinished wh match to play sf. We had a huge fighting game community in the atl back in the day and no one really took the wh series seriously. We would play fatal fury hardcore like sf2, but not wh. I know its a good game, but kof, fatal fury, the sam showhdown series are the main snk titles imo and those are the games that should be showcased at major tournaments. Now we need to agree of which versions of the of those games will be the standard to play. Just an view from an old man from our scene back in the day. To tell you the truth the only fatal fury that is TURELY tournament worthy is motw! Rb2 was a test game for motw imo. All they did was take away the planes to evade attacks and added a justdefend. They keep the feint attack combos and links of rb2. Motw should be the standard in fatal fury games imo. Not to say rbs and rb2 aren’t tournament worthy games, but motw should be the 3S of snk games.
MOTW is a good compromise game. Not really a big fan of it, but it’s a good game. I think it’s better designed then 3S.
Overall I agree with Josh and the Triad on the too many SNK games focus. Random game once in a while is great for nostalgia, but, just like other companies, (this is not just an SNK thing) with the good came a lot of crap.
Capcom’s laid a large number of rotten eggs themselves (Super, NG, SFA1, MSHvsSF) right off the top of my head.
Musolini- Also sorry I didnt respond to your post…but yeah a lot of people have that problem breaking your defense in RBS and RB2…but Mai in RBS doesnt really have that problem see…

#1-On half the cast you will fear getting thrown period and I dont need the throw inv. window because you will take a severe cut on your health either if I throw you or you get hit with my target combo! #2- Just you sitting there and turting will give me a full bar VERY VERY FAST! (Battery) Once again this changes the game for those I can throw and combo after! Mai becomes Chun-Li! #3- An aggressive Mai as you know is VERY VERY good at chipping…thus if you wanna play the Breakshot game I can still chip down your health very fast…faster than the damage I take for breakshotting! #4-Eventually you are going to have to jump, move, Line Shift evade, attack, or do something…and as I and Larry have said, if I am within striking distance (preferably cr.a range) the moment you try all that you’ve been beaten!
a. I buffer rising flame always while doing cr.a, so jump and get hit, or S Power since that is unblockable in the air!
b. you move cr.a is gonna hit you
c. you attack and unless its faster than my cr.a or has more priority cr.a is still gonna beat it out
d. you Line Shift evade trying to sidestep cr.a and I recover from cr.a BEFORE you do from Line Shifting, thus you lose a chunk of your bar FREE
e. You get thrown and lose half life
f. I go low with cr.b to beat out your lows trying to go under cr.a (I’m not stupid! Told you all I play this game seriously! :razz: )
So Mai is very well equipped to be what Larry calls an aggressive turtle…
many of the matches between me and Deadly Rave Neo at NEC8 even before I got 20x better as I am now were just like what I mention…
And ended up Time Out but with Mai being the victor most the time!

Sure if they wanna focus on just 5 games go right ahead…but some people may not be a big fan of those five games…so are we gonna make them play them because thats “all we offer?”
Nope…thats where I come in to spice things up… Look at Josh and Keits as doing the 3s, ST, CVS2, Guilty Gear, and Tekken (maybe not Tekken lol) for SNK.
I’m the one doing the “side events” in case people get too bored of the main games all the time and want something different!
