Valid points brought up on both sides. You prefer rb2 over rbs because of the gameplay system and you guys view nerfing to be not that bad in rb2 and thatâs fine. I prefer rbs because most of the roster can compete and there are NO useless characters in rbs, unlike rb2. Every character can compete in rbs as iâve been proving on 2df by playing and winning with ex tung against top tier characters with people that know how to play rbs!
Some of the characters they should have just gotten rid of in rb2 and added new characters instead. If a character is good because others are nerfed harder than he was that doesnât make him better than the older version imo. You keep talking and talking with no prof you know how to play rbs. Sounds like you are reading from a faq+adding your own opinion on which game you like to play more. Why donât you entertain an old mans request by getting on 2df and we can play both games to compare and contrast what I donât like about my characters in rb2 vs rbs. You will see how I use them in rbs and how I try to use them in rb2, but they are different in ranges of their attacks. Some special moves are taken away and not replaced with any new moves. Comboâs are changed for the worst for the characters I use.:shake::shake: I would rather play than theory fighter on here. Josh is the only one thatâs for rb2 that has tried to play rbs. Although we disagree he does make some good and valid points about rb2.:wonder:

Larry makes good points Musolini- Its still a matter of opinion what people preferâŚthe facts pretty much are that the line shift system is more balanced in RB2, the line shift in RBS doesnt ruin the game if you know it well enough though it is powerful, ( Like I say all this theory fighter Sokaku Unblockables and Knockdown crossups and shit all I gotta do is Line Shift jump and all that goes OUT THE WINDOW!), RB2 has a few characters that are quite toned down from RBS, and thatâs about as far as I am going to go.

Your whole hangup seems to be nerfed characters. In RB2, only one character is not viable to me, and thatâs Tung. This isnât like A2, where half the cast wasnât viable, or MVC2, where 90% arenât viable. Some even debate whether Tung is viable or not, so there may truly be no chars that are impossible in RB2. (I donât agree).
Iâd rather have nerfed characters over a nerfed system. Yeah, I could learn RBSP if I really wanted to, but I try to avoid games I donât like- itâs a waste of time when there are enough games I do like out there- why should I subject myself to games I donât like?

Since he doesnât really know rbs, but he is willing to learn so he can FAIRLY judge both rbs and rb2. The trainning session we had will do nothing but enhance his skills in rbs. See josh is starting off with no knowledge of the correct way to play rbs and is learning the correct way now on 2df. While you have a boat load of knowledge for rbs at your finger tips waiting to unleash it on everyone at MWC! I give josh mad respect for him willing to learn rbs even though he clearly prefers rb2! With my trainning he could be your main comp in the rbs tournament at mwc. I say that since you are the odds on favorite in the rbs tournament at rbs. No he hasnât played against you and your DARK MAI, but if he learns how to play rbs by playing against me he should give you a run for your money lukus. Iâm about 10-15x better than I was even at NEC8 in KOFXI due to competition.
my point was that even though some might prefer RBS over RB2 or RB1 over RBS and RB2 it doesnât make the games the better ones. theres people that prefer FF2 over FFS. there are people who prefer SF2HF over SSF2T. but just like in the RB series, most of these series the games that came out last ARE better than the previous ones cause they actually IMPROVED the game in more than 1 way. personal preference and character specific preference of a version of a character in the previous game doesnât make it better. i prefer KOF97 yamazaki over KOF98 yamazaki, i might even like KOF97 better than KOF98. but 98 IS the better game in the end, cause it improved mistakes of the past and added new shit to the game. and taken out a lot of infinites and bugs at the same time.
also this bitching about mai is getting old. RB2 mai can hold her own against ANYBODY in the game if you know how to use her. if you donât than invest the time in her and get better with her. the scrubby RBS version of mai is just that, scrubby and scrub friendly. RBS has lesser combos, mai isnât half as deep as RB2 mai, not to mention shes boring as hell to use in RBS. but shes liked cause shes easy to use and doesnât need half the time investment of RB2 mai (which isnât even much compared to some TS characters) to get good with. in fact ANY character in RBS can be mastered WAY faster than almost any character in RB2. this alone indicates the level of diversifying the characters and making sure everybody plays well and differently.
shin blanka or dg, if you guys honestly believe RBS is the better im greatly interested in why you believe it to be better, just donât give me this everybody can compete with everybody shit or this character was better in this game argument. even in RB2 everybody can compete, its not ST or TS. and yes, some characters have gotten better and some worse in RB2, big fucking deal. REAL reasons, like the game plays faster in RB2 which improved it a LOT, most standard combos updated to fit the character being used, moves updated, some for the better, a lot for worse (dpâs). more breakshots for characters. more mix up for characters. new chains and feint cancels. perfected back planes and plane attacks. let me hear your versions.
p.s. shin, i couldnt install 2df so my lil bros would do it for me but still havenât done so (he said he dl something but never finished what he was doing). even if they did, i donât have the means to fight online on the PC anywayz, i donât own a decent pad or stick, thus only use KB (cordless kb with little bat left in it too) on PC. which isnât anywhere nearly as effective. also, if you think im all talk and donât know the game, you wrong. i had MASTERED RBS (as it is the EASIEST TO MASTER RB game of all) over 12 years ago. with every fucking character in the game. you keep on practicing, when i do have the means to do so try your best characters to see how far you can go.
How you figure Mai is not half as deep as RBS Mai? I think RBS Mai is deeper than RB2 MaiâŚpeople just choose to play her scrubby⌠theres quite a bit more to Mai than what people thinkâŚthey just dont play her to her full capabilityâŚ
If you play her to her full capability you will use everything at her arsenal and not just the obvious stuff (as you see me use about everything she has in some way or fashion).

In RBS you gotta know what you can use with Mai to be effective, if not and you are using a couple of things only to win against your opponent your opponent sucksâŚall it is to it.

How is that going to help him at MWC?!?!?!? Iâm going to try and play josh once a day with atleast 10 games a day for this week if he wants to train for mwc. I will be using mai the whole time we play. Yes my mai doesnât compare to your DARK MAI, but if he can see the basics from her from me I think he could stand a better chance against you at mwc in rbs. Its the atleast thing I can do for him since he is willing to play a game in which he prefers the other version.

Like also I create ways to get better like applying different thingsâŚLike doing ambiguous crossups in the air and the ground instead of the ground (a simple example) after wakeup and adding more tricks to my arsenal and having someone test stuff out for me when they come over etc.
My suggestion, get a Saitek pad on mail-order, I think itâs like 10 Euros or something. Itâs not great, but it works- what I use for SNK. I use my 360 EX2 for Capcom.
I am going to get a real stick sometime, but donât know what to get, and trying to wait until that Japan Hori is reviewed.
Trust me, thereâs a lot of very good RB2 comp on 2DF, and some not so good, just gotta find the good ones. For KOF- it seems that the countries where CF has a big influence (Brazil and Pakistan love 2DF- and they have good scenes, their top players can beat me consistently), other countries prefer GGPO. Damdai deserves massive props for giving up a good alternative to GGPO that supports all the obscure games- a lot of people are rediscovering some classic fighters as well.
