DIE ALREADY! The Jill Valentine Combo/Strategy Thread

This is accurate. I said one starting bar. The combo’s themselves take two meter.

I think the usefullness of strider isn’t strider itself, but the immense pressure provided with Strider+ Jill. Dante has to be ALWAYS on his guard, literally, and since Jill’s going to be all over Dante that the pressure is going to be more or less constant, even at situations where she’s midscreen away.

I said 1 to 2 bars, and I didn’t say 1 assist. I’m just trying to see the highest damage she can do solo wise, no DHC/THC/Full meter. That’s all…

What can Jill do to capitalize off of Vajra’s hard knockdown? It seems to me like she lacks an OTG capable of turning that hard knockdown into a real combo…? (Sorry for the dumb question, but I’m new… :confused: )

I realize that, im just saying dont expect to pull off that kind of damage in a real match without DHC/THCs.

Well, my 900k combo is my BnB…

It takes a DHC, but Jill is an amazing meter builder so it usually doesn’t matter.

I use the Hard knockdown after a jump loop so that I can combo into her Arrow Kick without needing an OTG’d assist. It goes something like this:

The hard knockdown itself is really useful in combos because it can extend them a bit, however off a plain random hit, she can Cross up on their wakeup after a fallen prey or without one.

Basic Setup: M,H,2H,4H,22S,Somersault,Hs,MMHS,MMH,Call Strider,S,s.S,Arrow Kick, Double Knee Drop, 22S,Somersault.

Like i said WITHOUT dhcs, i know its possible with a DHC and completely practical but he was asking about doing that kind of damage using only jill + assists.

I know that without those restrictions she can do great damage, i get about 860-920K with a BnB that uses a 2 bar THC and no assists.

791,800 with 2 assists and one super, 809,700 with a additional S. with my Jill/Sent/Doom Team.

Ive had MvC3 since day 1 of vanilla and still have yet to even purchase Jill. But recently trying to try out fun mixup characters, I thought to myself, “why not?” But before I go and apply for a loan to make the lofty investment, I was wondering if Jill’s execution is really as hard as it’s fabled. I’m definitely not a high execution player and, while canceling stuff to a down down S doesn’t sound too hard in general, is she really one of the hardest in the game? Like, should I even bother? She seems really interesting, and powerful, but if she takes 50 hours in training mode to get consistent with a BNB, I’ll pass. Thanks!

Jill’s combos are not hard at all. Cancelling into 22S feels weird at first (at least it did for me) but it didn’t take long until it became natural. The only really hard thing execution wise with Jill is Mad Beast, but it’s not a staple of her game or anything.

Good news! With all the Ammy weapon changes and Dante teleport tricks, I feel despite having crap execution, down down S canceling is something that doesn’t at all intimidate me :slight_smile:

Ok guys sorry call me retarded or what not but I’m having the hardest time figuring stuff out, 1st off Jill is the ONLY character that I KNOW I want to use, 2nd off, I can play with anyone except Felecia and Haggar, so I just need help picking a team. Also on the UMvC3 Jill combo video thats up on youtube, I can do all the solo Jill combo’s… I’m pretty much convinced I’ve got all I need with execution as far as Jill goes. I just don’t understand how to use assists in her combo’s other than OTG… Also I don’t understand what makes damage get so high in her combos, should I be doing MORE hits, where usually its LESS hits for more damage, I usually start out cr.M, st.H, 22S, 5H, bla bla bla… should I be doing more of her Magic Series in order to get more damage? my solo Jill combo does about 505,000dmg meterless, how can I use assist to make this better, also which assist and such do you guys reccomend… I’m up for ANY suggestions, like I said I can play anyone I just need to know what you think. I have a capture card and can start posting videos if you guys want I’ll try to become and “inspirational Jill player” I just need you guy’s help deciding how to make the most godly Jill team possible =)

Does anyone know a good combo into Spencer’s Slant Shot assist, that does good damage and works anywhere on screen? Been trying to come up with one for ages, but haven’t had any success.

Extremely stupid question, but after the Somersault > jMMHS > jMMHS part in a combo, I try to do H > 4H > S > jMMHS, but the air part doesn’t work because the opponent is too high up. I think I saw it in a video though, is it possible?
