that tekken 5 stick is fake. the presence of the logo doesn’t make it real.
i’ve come across many Soul Calibur 2 and Tekken 4 Sticks that look exactly the same outside, but don’t have the same PCB. the chips that normally had “Hori” written on them were just blank. the real SC2 sticks worked with my xbox converters while those clones didn’t, and the buttons broke much faster than Horis. the Tekken 4 stick kept disconnecting itself from the ports, which wasn’t clear when playing Tekken, but it would mess up any capcom game. fake.
and about the case:
that’s a modded Gamefighter stick. it’s a terrible, terrible little thing.
there are a whole lot of other clones out there in northern asia. there were Tekken Tag sticks with 6 buttons, Tekken 4 sticks with Steve art, you get the picture.
open it and look at the chips on the PCB. if none of them have “Hori” written on them, it’s a fake. that’s how it’s been on the sticks i’ve seen, at least.
I got mine in china town (pacific mall for any gta’ers) so refund is a definite no no.
I don’t see too many ppl posting sticks with this case design, is there any reason for that, are the stock parts that bad? I’ve noticed the joystick clicks very loudly when moving it, but It’s my first stick, so I figured I’ll mod it later.
Hori is the best CLONE, but it’s still just a clone. the buttons break down rather quickly, and the stick feels rather different from the real arcade joysticks.
and the T4 stick isn’t rare.
dropthesky:
there are no “real Hori” versions of that T5 stick. all of those are fake. just look at the jpeg graphics on the art man, lol, that should be enough to tell you it’s fake.
