Did Yamazaki do that (he does carry a switchblade after all)? Or did he chance on Hon-Fu in that condition?
Yamazaki seems to be nonchalantly looking off-panel, perhaps at a fleeing assailant.

Well according to the story Yamazaki is a criminal and Hon Fu is chasing him so thereā€™s that angle to it and the idea was to basically show some of Yamazakiā€™s crazy without resorting to the usual knife or tongue action. He slits the throat and then casually holds the umbrella while Hon Fu is taking his last breaths. By looking away at something else, to me it seems like Yamazaki just did it like it was nothing and doesnā€™t care about Hon Fu, just a pesky cop he needed to take out.

Yamazaki is awesome. one of my favorites, I wish he made a comeback in KoFXIII series. Seeing this drawing reminds me of the CvS2 intro against Chun Li where Hon Fu comes in, but gets spanked by Yamazaki and runs off screen.

I think heā€™ll be in for sure if/when there is a new KOF. That intro really was great. I hope that super where he slashes the opponent a lot and then takes him with his teeth and throws him makes it in as well. His tongue waggle idle pose in KOF2003 was really boss too.
