Diablo 3?!

yeah I loved the monk. Probably gonna be my first class, or Sorc :stuck_out_tongue:

I saw a Windforce drop in Chaos earlier…I’ve been playing D2 on and off for 10+ years and this is the first time I’ve ever seen one drop, ever. I picked it up, but it’s worthless these days. I saw a bunch of Grandfather Colossous Blade’s drop, but this is the first WF I’ve ever seen.

Fuck that shit. Ebotd Collossous Blade or EBotd Thunder Maul ALL DAY. Ebotd zerker axe if you want to use a shield/offhand a beast.

I bought a 13XX damage Ebotd Thunder Maul for 5fg the other day. I then geared up an empty barb I had, to make myself a 3rd barb. I now have an axe barb, maul barb and sword barb. I’m enjoying D2 before it dies in a month, and am leveling a fire sorc right now. I want to make a trap sin+summon nec too, as my final characters.

GPA hits way more and longer range.
I prefer it to the TM.

I have a 91-92 trap sin that was running about 42 skill (i dont think my char has been deleted yet!) and she was pretty fun… good as hell in PvP. I raped most of her items though until i got my smite pally built up for ubers… then i stopped playing :{

so sad, considering WF was considered the #1 weapon back in the day. I was selling those fuckers for over $100 a pop, man I miss those days :frowning:

Man… the Diablo 2 you guys played and the Diablo 2 I played were so much different. I mean I didn’t even think about trying to grind up a 99 or whatever. I just enjoyed playing different characters and beating the game on normal was enough for me. I never found out what SOJs were (still don’t know what it stands for), never learned how to bot, i just played and had fun, I never even realized there was all this crazy stuff happening way above where I was.

Hopefully Diablo 3 has something for all of us

I got one, years ago, running The Pits with my Fireorb sorc.

500+ mf, post-mf modifying patch ftw.

As I see it.

lol yeah, SoJ’s = Stones of Jordan (a ring that gave +1 to all stats). When I played, they were essentially the currency. Everything equaled an amount of SoJ’s. Windforce was like 30-40 SoJ’s. I’m curious if the economy of D3 will have an item like that as well.

And lol, the game wasn’t Diablo, until Hell challenge level. When shit started getting fucking crazy immunities, and you had to trust in your party.

Lightning enchanted multi shot.
Extra Strong, Fire enchanted, with a corpse explosion death.
Cold enchanted, with a corpse explosion/frost ring death.

Easy death if you stay in range and dead still if you run away and lag catches you.
Or in the LEMS case, dead before you even know about the enemy.

Fuck a party.

My sorc had max immunities except for fire. And 39 level major skills. And 500 mf.

Which meant she could run anything in hell, barring Travincal.

As I see it.

Final 3 characters I have are a summon/poison necro. A strafezon using witchwild string bow I found on a baal run (the one time I was faster than the bot lol) and a wolf druid with an Earthshifter maul that uses Amageddon as a support move.

I started this series with a druid back in the early days of the expansion and will end my run of D2 with another Druid.

^ That’s crappy shit, Inferno, lol. If you’re on USWest, I’ll hook you up or anyone else that wants to get back into D2. You can have that Windforce I found for your zon if you want. My Werewolf druid does 24K damage a hit with fury, 31k with a ebotd tmaul.

My fire sorc is level 88 right now, she’s awesome. Killed a geared barb in 2 hits. 50K meteor with charms, 20K something Fireball with -res from my merc’s infinity and some of my gear. It’s like I’m an install’d super Morrigan from UMvC3 chucking fireballs, cept everything dies in 1-2 FB’s

I traded 7X elemental skill grand charms I had for 6X trap skill grand charms all with LIFE. Dude got jipped, and that shit is going towards the trap assassin I’m planning to make(I got a Whirlwind assassin I made recently…she’s fun as hell.)

I disagree. You don’t realize it’s how I am. I don’t whore the best unless I earn it on my own. I play oddball style all the time. I can do better with other gear but then it’s just cookie cutter shit like everyone else. That’s why I don’t run a windy druid anymore/Meterorb sorc etc. There’s no fun in that.

My Amageddon wolf isn’t doing anything crazy but he is handling things just fine. I love a challenge and playing untwinked is fun for me.

Fuck meteorb.

Everyone was on about how good it is.

But 38-40+ level fireballs melt face just as fast, if not faster, without the cooldown or the limitations of being an aoe.

Fireorb is that hotness.

You have to be realistic about these things.

I played through the beta a couple of months ago and dropped it. It didn’t feel like Diablo until near the end, when you really get into swarms of enemies. I keep telling myself not to buy it.

I’m going to buy it anyway. I know it.

Diablo 2 was much the same, until you got into later difficulties, and got access to the end-game skills and builds.

How much of Normal was ice shard, for a sorc, lol?

You have to be realistic about these things.

True. I’m still sour about not being able to set my own stat points.

You and me both.

But we are very clearly relics of gaming’s past.

The fact that we do not allocate points to specific skills was very nearly a deal-breaker, for me.

Truth be told, the only thing that pulled me back in, was the late day announcement of the inclusion of +skills items.

And thus builds can still exist, somewhat.

You have to be realistic about these things.

Yeah but when you look at D2 and each class had 10 different viable builds… It’s just sad to see. I’m going to assume that end game gear will help build a class a certain way based on its stats and + to certain skills. Even though that makes sense, its only an illusion of customization. YOU aren’t doing anything. The game is still doing it for you.

Then we have soul bound items. Which should never have been in Diablo. I understand why its there, to place more emphasis on gold and make the auction house viable, but when you put in a cash shop… you’ve successfully killed gold. Again. Lets be real here, would you put anything on the AH for less than a billion gold, knowing full well you can have a buyout of two bucks?

Wait.

What?

We have childmolesting SOULBOUND ITEMS up in D3?

You have to be realistic about these things.
