Dhalsim - YOGUH!

I am Good man! All healed up from the EVO car accident. My aldy is still a bit messed up. But overall were good. Thanks for asking. Did you go to AZ? I was there the weekend yb4 you and watson were supposed to go. CB, Giga, and I had some GREAT sets. It was too fun. Some other ST players came by so we just played and had a really good time.

I am working on some new sick shit on HD remix for My site. I was looking to get a another SIm player to help me test some new stuff out. I have been super busy with work. But, ppl have been asking me how to deal with the new guile match up. Sim needs ways to do damage fast. I found a new approach out, but I need to test the timing of it, and if it allows Guile enought time to charge a FK to retaliate.

Anyway, next time we get a big SF thing in SD, like id did eariler this year, you should come down. I’ll put you up, so you just need to get down here!

I actually wouldn’t be shocked if Guile still lost the match, but if he does it’ll be in a very selective set of circumstances (getting zoned from full screen). Not at mid screen anymore.

Super noob question here. I do not understand why sometimes when I’m in the corner and try to teleport out of there I end up rematerializing in the same spot. What’s weird is that it seems inconsistent. Sometimes I teleport to the other side of the screen and sometimes I end up still in the corner and I get punished hard.

Its not a noob question really. I think the answer to that is because Sirlin left the teleport glitch in. The glitch is, of course, the difficulty you’re experiencing.

However, Ryu1999 recently posted a potential work around in the ST Sim thread

djfrijoles also found an example of this at 4:09

As to the relevancy in HD Remix however, I am uncertain

Were they reversals? In the video you posted, dictator had already crossed up dhalsim when he did the reversal teleport, meaning dhalsim was no longer in the corner, which is most likely why the bug didn’t happen.

^^^^^^^
Hmm, well, anyone care to test this out then?

EDIT

Im watching this right now at 4:09. Dic jumps at Sim, but doesnt cross him up. He then does standing knee, c. lk, then does PC. Sim blocks the 1st hit, then teleports out of the corner as the second hit is about to land.

I’m not seeing a crossup.

^You gotta be an idiot to think that guile actually beats sim in that matchup. Ive heard people say some stupid things on here before but this gotta be tops, either that or a really, really bad joke.

  • R u SurE y0u fUllY ReCoverD fRom that cAR aCciDent?

Yeah, your right! Guess I am an idoit… :wtf:

Did you even bother to read the thread???

Don’t try to act like what you said wasn’t stupid, even coming from you I would expect better.

Maybe you should like you know try reading the thread?

I did read the thread and Guile still loses to Sim, what part of that don’t you understand??

The psycho crusher crosses up. Bison is in the corner when dhalsim disappears.

What? Dude I have no idea what the point you are trying to make?

I do think Guile is even or has an advantage on Sim in HD. I an not denying it. I think it has been out lined enough in this thread were this point of view comes from.

You can’t deny the changes to each the character and the effect it has on the match. To say Sim still dominates of Guiles, is actually the stupid statement here.

Is that what you are saying? Do you actually think the matchup is played the same as it was in ST? Do you think match has been made any easier for Sim? I am actually not quite sure what point you are trying to make or what you trying to disprove.

However, until you can actually support your statements on why you think I am wrong, besides using the ever classic 5th grade “Thats stupid!” retort, there is nothing more to say.

If participating in intellgent discussion means I get to argue with people who use the “that’s stupid, you’re an idiot” rebuttal to prove thier points and disprove my points (and opinions), I will more than happily be seen as an idiot to get it let go.

That way you can move on and go make yourself sound well informed in another forum. And, I can actually move on and a have meaningful converstion with other good and well informed players in this forum with my time.

My time for you is over. Good Day Sir…:lovin:

Your commentary was such a waste of internet space. If you dont have anything constructive to add aside from OMGWTFSIMWINZRUSTOO-PID!?!1111, then go back to lurking.

@ Fatboy: Is Damdai right? Check out 4:09

This is what turned me off to Dhalsim in SSF2T. 14 years later and I still can’t pull off his super.

Yes, damdai is right. When Psycho crusher is done a certain distance from the corner, it crosses up and puts Dictator on the other side (this can be very dangerous for Dict. sometimes). From what I can see, when Dhalsim teleported he was technically on the left hand side.

Try doing it slower to get used to the motion.

Yea, it looks like you’re right. Well, at least I learned a new tactic.

Scenario: Dhalsim throws guile in right corner then does a slide kick on guiles wakeup, guile blocks on wakeup but gets thrown immediately. On guiles very last block stun frame, would he be able to do a reversal?

Does any think a good sim has a decent matchup wit everyone?I lose constantly for the sake of learning(its a tough job) sim on remix.

I want to say yes. If you mean reversal throw, then I believe this is possible. If you mean Flash Kick, I dont see why not. In either case it would probably depend on which strength slide you did and when and at what distance, mainly so that YOU could actually do something.

I guess that depends on what you mean by decent. If you mean does Sim have bad matchups, then yes he does, but so does everyone really. In ST he had a few but he was ranked rather highly. Its still too early to tell with regards to HD remix. I certainly think that Sim can win any match up. The nuiances here now depend on how good you and your opponent know the matchup. From there, dexterity and reflexes determine the winner. In any event, knowing the matchup and reading your opponent certainly cant hurt your odds!

If you want to improve, go on youtube and look at Gian’s matches as he is the SIm to watch. Most of the stuff in classic ST should still apply.

Guile could always flash before the slide even hits and knocks down Sim, I honestly wouldn’t try sliding on a knocked down Guile as his Flash will stuff the slide every time.

As for bad matchups (and feel free anybody to tell me if it’s just me and Sim actually has an even or an advantage) I’d say Chun is his worst nightmare, followed by Honda (fireball recovery is too slow and he takes advantage of that) then possibly now Blanka, though this could be even now.
