I feel fairly certain the Milo has a better Cammy than I do. I just want the record to state that.
And I thank you for all the love, Sweet Poison I am always willing to help out other players. It is part of what make the scenes so much fun for me. I think it is cool that you seek my advice.
But I need to humble and honest here, I feel you place my abilities into high of regards :shy:. I didn’t even know that I had an apprentice! :wow: That is cool, but I don’t think that I deserve one.
There are much better Sim players out there. SJV, Rambo, Ego, and from what I read now, Damdai. So I would just keep them in mind.
Yeah that is what I feel. However, if you are facing Blue Tall Cans, it is going to be tough. For what ever reason, he just has my number.
Its like he is my natural predator in Darwin’s theory of evolution. Our win/loss ratios are in his favor. He is the only Blanka on line that has beaten me more than I have beaten him. By like a mile… LOL.
Well I have seeked many of the good Sims but unfortunately you have been the only one who I have been able to watch and play against due to when they are available. NLP OU said he was going to be busy this month so I will try hooking up with him again next month.
So that is why I keep saying the apprentice of fatboy. I determined not only to be in the same sentence as some of the Sim’s you mentioned but even higher. Like I have said right now my passion for this game is higher than my skill level. I intend to change that. I’m hoping next year to go to EVO. I would love to play in more tournaments but not much here in Omaha.
And it seems Cammy has taken the place as worst for Sim on my list than Chun Li. I really dont care for the matchup but I have learned alot on how to handle her. Also my no fire/no flame training is going well. Now I just need to encompass my learnings and go from there.
And speaking of Damdai, did you see my youtube beating I listed above. He totally overwhelmed me. Any suggestions. Also anything else I could have done against Thelo. I feel I’m getting close but close only works for horse shoes and grenadas.
And your help is much apprecaited man. Thanks again.
Hey whenever you want another brown tan on those cheeks let me know. I’m telling you this apprentice has been training hard for that crazy match up. Darth Simicus will be ready. :nunchuck:
There is a big difference especially when you are talking abou ranked. If someone rage quits in ranked they basically are qutting but also effecting your ranking. You do not always get the win if they quit. Someone who throws the match is basically conceding defeat. In doing so they are not doing anything that will effect your wins. There is nothing wrong with that. They are no way the same. The only thing that is the same is the outcome in that they both lost. How the lost came about though is totally different.
I guarantee you not only in street fighter but othe competitive sports that teams indviduals quit due to frustration and that they were just overpowered. How many times have you seen in basketball where a team is just killing another team and the coach from the losing team pulls out his starters? It is the exact same thing.
Dont give this guy a hard time. Now had he raged quit I would say yeah because that is crap when people do that but again he did not do anything like that. I even did that when I played Bluetallcans in the WWL. I had a sliver of life and I just stopped. I was so frustrated and overwhelmed from his tic biting I just stopped playing. As long as the match can be finished there is nothing wrong on how one decides to play it out. :china:
I was under the impression that he “quit” out of the match, i.e. start -> quit. Therefore, you would still not get credit for the win. If he just gave up and let you win, then I agree, that is something different than RQ.
BTW, why did you delete me from your friends list?
What are some of the best ways to deal with Honda’s Buttslam when close and Honda in general? This and Vega seem to be the worst matches for my budding and young Dhalsim…
Jamie, Jamie. Honda is tough. Well good Honda’s are tough. The butt slam in my eyes has waaayyy too much priority. Anybody that disagrees is in denial. But that is not going to help you . First if you check this thread you can see some of my recent matches against Thelothegreat who is one of the better Honda’s on-line.
The key to this matchup is keeping Honda out at all costs. Mix fireballs so that you can punish next attack from Honda. If you see sumo splash wait until he is about to land and then punish. If Honda does any other jump towards you besides the sumo splash, know that you can counter with your standing jab or standing back jab. Obviously that will do little damage so you want to follow with some type of move to push him back and repeat the cycle.
As you have stated though the sumo splash allows Honda to gain ground fast which makes the match intense and with one mess up can cause a lot of damage to you. If you can do a good job of keeping him out and punishing the sumo splash it should allow you to avoid the ridiculous damage that can come from chip damage from the HHS.
The problem I see with Honda is from his down back charge position he can throw out a head butt or sumo splash. If Honda is not to far away Sim has to guess what is going to come. If you block the headbutt sure you take a little chip damage but now Honda is in really close and has sooooo many options. If you think headubtt but he does sumo splash, even if you block the attack depending on how deep it is you could be in a stun and he then can follow up with an ochio tick setup, hhs into a ochio, grab, repeat the sumo splash. You get the point.
My best advice is to watch videos, play against Honda’s and just learn how to play the matchup. It’s for sure a tough matchup but you have to work hard and a win is possible.
And yeah Vega is tough but you have to decide who is going to be the aggressor. If you allow Vega to be the aggressor know your normals and anti-air specials to slow him down and teleport (probably one of the better places to use it now that they have nerfed it some). If you choose to be the aggressor you have to stay on Vega and not allow him to do wall shananigans. Keep pressure with drills, mix-up grabs and bait him to do flip kicks and then punish, fireballs to keep him at bay, air yoga flames as he tries to run away from you. Basically you do not let him dictate the match.
Yeah I read the earlier posts and I watch the high level matches for some time now. On the Vega match-up I did notice that with the top jap sim’s that you either defend or you go balls to the wall and start the drill, fb, fakeout tactics. I think the agressive sim does better in this match overall.
Me vs a Japanese Dhalsim over GGPO. I swear, I won a match right after I stopped recording, I had ALOT better idea what was safe and wasn’t by the end. Ignore the bit with ken, picking him was an accident
