Street Fighter IV Dhalsim Match Videos
Hope this is helpful:

It’s a page with links to matches with top Dhalsim players.
awesome thread man…
Sim is one of the best chars to use the airthrow against imo, hes in the air so long that its really easy to hit him with it.

Here is me vs Blackpyro at a recent tourney and it must have been one of the boring matches to play/watch. I really have no clue how to play against Abel, any input would be great!
WEL fIRst youre dhalsim is great but put more yoga flame combos in youre gamepllay. wel 4 the rest i only see 2 problems **1abel’s Marceaux Roll **= dont try to fadc it the best is after he performed the Marceaux Roll you got 2 options if he’s stil in front of you grab him if he’s behind you teleport away or tele behind him mix it UP LOL TRy not to get close to him because if he cross you up with Marceaux Roll he has a free grab. dont pull of a yoga fire or hp without thinking because he just can do Marceaux Roll en grab or a ultra . try to avoid jumping back fierce if he’s stil on ground even if you hit him he can still do his Marceaux Roll .
2 abel at close range
pull off yoga flame combo’s like back mk into yoga flame en lk slide into yoga flame en down back lp ,mp,lk,mk into yoga flame en problem is fixed en 4 the rest stay calm
Didn’t see these vids linked yet: Mochi beasting in a Sega World tourny
and Mochi in a team tourny at Fantasista.
The slide under low tiger shot into super in the finals of the first vid was outrageous. :wow: Also gotten mention that I swiped these links from Nohoho and there are a couple more links to some good Dhalsims in his blog. Everybody should have his blog bookmarked.
I noticed in the first video that he was barely any anti air at all, none, not a single yoga knee, it cost him the first ryu match, he tried one back mp the next match but it didn’t work, but he had plenty of opportunities to do yoga knee in the first match against ryu and the sagat match, instead he just jumped back, interesting, he did one yoga knee in the ken match, one in the 1st round of the final sagat match, 2 in the 2nd round, there were lots of opportunities for him to use it, but I guess it’s easier to notice those things when you are spectating and not playing.
sorry if this is covered elsewhere, but can someone tell me how to watch stuff off nicovideos? I can’t check out that first link…
:u: check the first post in this thread
I noticed this too. It seemed like he missed quite a few AA’s, but like you said im watching and not actually playing. I really liked his use of the EX yoga blast Vs the akuma i definitely don’t use that enough (Actually not at all). At 15:24 he dashes back and uses his ultra with Ryu in the corner. I don’t like this, i think he should of stayed in the cornerand let out the ultra and used J+light punch it causes a knockdown for you to get into a better position if thats what he was going for. Correct me if im wrong however.
Also at 25:00 he knocks ken down and lets out the ultra and teli’s behind ken, then quickly teli’s back while ken was getting up i thought that was incredibly smart it was like a teli crossup ken didnt really know where to block.
Thanks for the video watching tip Monte. Mochi is indeed a BEAST! I’m feeling great Sim pride right now.
I love the announcers in the first video. Every time Mochi pulls the bnb combo into Super they’re like “AAAIIIII!!” in unison. A full Super meter in the hands of a Sim master is like a ticking time bomb…when will it go off???
One other thing I noticed in the first Sega tourny vid that I haven’t seen other Dhalsims do is HK drill after getting a forward throw. Mochi did to akuma and ken at 1:38 and 24:35. So does that beat wake up SRK? If so would I be able to extend this tactic to Ryu and Sagat. He also had another opportunity at the end of round 2 against akuma where he got a forward throw but he opted to dashback and down forward mp. I assume it’s because he would have ate an ultra if he tried to drill.
Daigo vs Iyo
This match was epic

Jwong vs Iyo

Poongko vs Iyo

I think the most striking things about those matches are how rarely Iyo uses an antiair against Ryu’s jump-ins, the way he uses ultras, and his constant limb/fire fakeouts. I think the first is probably a function of how well Daigo and Poongko know the range, timing, and jumping attacks they can use to actually jump in on Dhalsim (for example, far early roundhouse or closer fierce), but I’m still confused as to why he didn’t do an occasional slide against their jump-ins to keep them honest. I have to say, I’m not a huge fan of Iyo’s ultra game in these videos. I was surprised to see him use the ultra as a wakeup so many times, and I was more surprised to see that he would put out ultra and start his mixups before waiting to confirm that his opponent was blocking. He got ex dragon punched a few times because he started his mixup game too early and because he used it in a situation where Ryu wasn’t already doing something else. I really like his limb/fire fakeouts, though, that’s a pretty sweet idea.
He had real close matches against Daigo and Justin, could have easily gone his way. Go USA, though!
Is there any reason, in the Daigo match (in one of the last rounds), he just sits there and blocks like 4-5 Hadokens in a row?
No tower, fire, jump over, etc…
great matches - would’ve been nice if the playeres were actually separated instead of being able to hear their opponents button presses and joytstick movements.
Some great Arturo vids from a recent tourny in CT. Ill link one from DSP’s youtube page. There are many more featuring Art and are great to watch.

That was pretty good, but he made some goofy choices (empty supers?), reminds me of myself lol.
Pretty good AA timing though.
