Dhalsim Team

With Sim if you attack from almost directly overhead with / , ad d/f, (f)lp,©hk you can still combo into stuff off of it, and almost all anti airs (except Psylocke) will move under you (including Cable’s… if Cable comes out, there, when you land and start you combo off it, stick in drones with your first move if you wanna hit cable… drones hit him as you start on their point char… I’d just go with drones if they block though (or if it’ll kill cable). Since you started with 2 hits in the air, you can’t / \ hp, ad d/f because the hp will cause flying screen, thus using / , d+lk,hp+cyke, qcf+pp (bullet hits), aim up into unrollable OTG is gonna be your main combo on hit off of the tri-jump starting with 2 hits.

Also, you should be careful about starting a combo with a sweep to qcf+pp. They can roll the sweep and attack Sim from the back off of it. You can also sweep, OTG c.lk, normal jump forward (f)j.lp+Cyke,©j.lk, qcf+pp (bullet hits) aim up, DHC to sent…
or… sweep, c.lk+drones, normal jump forward (f)j.lp,©j.lk, ad d/f to other side, \ /, qcf+kk (drones push them into the strike on block or hit)

In those two situations Sim can get out at least if they roll.

Good stuff but the guy was using doom rocks and zoning with cable to keep me out. The rocks most times would knock Cyke off his assist, and if I tagged in Sent he would triple AHVB him or dhalsim if I tried to fly above him. Dude was crazy quick and made few if any mistakes. This guy was awesome he was 32/2 in the room I was in. At least I came the closest to knocking him out in the room lol

I really hate playing against Cable in the new versions. Before you could’ve rushed/attacked Doom and cancel normals to teleport on reaction if he tries to AHVB, putting you on the other side and letting you mess up cable or forcing his DHC at the least and getting cable out of there so you can address on of the other characters first.

However… Capcom done fucked that up in the new versions and it’s almost impossible to teleport out of supers on reaction because of the dropped frames.

I’m a purist. DC/Arcade will forever be better than X-Box and PS3 (or PS2 for that matter) versions! Sim is weaker now. =x

One other change is that inferno used to hold opponents in block stun for an abnormally long time, making it really quite safe on block. Now it still pulls them into you on block AND they can easily attack before Sim’s recovery. I REALLLLLLLLY hate when developers can’t get their shit right and characters play way differently between various releases of the “same” game–it’s like goddam Alpha 3 all over again where Sim was slower in all of the home versions and couldn’t do all of his VCs, even. Then the screwed up VC timing with all characters in one version, and had no kattobi cancel in the other, so there was no playing V-Gief either way.

Sorry to vent–I’m just getting really annoying and frustrated with some of the factors which make Sim worse in this newer version, with nothing that’s really helping him. His inferno was already 1-frame before when standing next to them after the flash, where they’d get hit if they weren’t already blocking, so even that which helped a lot of other characters is no improvement to him. >=[

I think half my losses in ranked can be attributed to getting sacked because of the differences affecting SIM in this new version of the game.

  • lag not allowing the finish of combos
  • getting sacked in the face by hail or AHVB which used to be teleportable on reaction fairly easily
  • getting sacked by HSF killing SIM or Sent where I used to get an infinite because of all kinds of weirdness not letting Sim begin his slide before HSF gets there (dropped frame again?) when in a block animation from a rocket punch he DUCKED under, which should not force a long continuous block since he shouldn’t be in block stun–all sorts of fucked up! =x

:end rant:

If they ever do get a 3rd game out there I would like to see the characters leveled out a bit. Not neutered completely but at least for me its hard to train with dhalsim when all I can face are cable capcom teams lol

Murakumo, you should post those goofs in the glitch thread, Capcom has been paying attention to it from what I understand.

Edit: and MK73, how about if they didn’t nerf anybody and just bumped up what the rest could do? Better.

I say make the big 4 suck ass at first and then fix it with an update in a month or two :). I know it takes talent to play them like people do, I just want to see those particular characters suffer a bit  lol Also I wish they would get rid of the clone characters like war machine, bone wolverine etc… There are is so much possibility in Marvel and Capcom universe for better characters than that and I hate it when clones take those slots. I think Nightcrawler would be a pretty cool addition for one and I miss Blanka’s electric ass as well.

Also update on my team I am getting owned left and right almost got perfected by a team with silver sam on it. That guy was insane!

Sim fights well vs. the top 4 one on one. I personally don’t worry about 1v1 against those 4 at all towards the end of a match. Its when they have assists that they’re most dangerous… then again, that’s assuming you can teleport out of their supers. =x Dhalsim also has the most damaging guaranteed combo of any of the top 4 when in unfly mode. In unfly d/f+hp beats out Mag tri-jump stuff pretty clean and leads to a few reps of the infinite and strike finish for a kill… Cable AHVB can be teleported and can also lead to the same thing. Let’s hope they get some reasonable fixes in with the patch. Mag c.lk,c.hp can be punished with Sim’s limbs from far, and if he likes to cancel to qcf+lp for “safetly”, Sim’s slide goes under the beam and leads to combo if they don’t roll, including, again, unfly infinite to strike.

The most annoying to play against in the top 4 is Storm just because of strange hitboxes when in moves and that some parts of her move are effectively considered projectiles.s.hk will beat Sim’s limbs at full screen for example. She can’t really combo off it, though, so you really only eat one hit.

I am stills pretty far from all of the unfly things I only have a decent mixup poke game and one BNB combo. It is just so hard playing sim on a pad. I never know when I am going to teleport or do a yoga blast, because of the damn controller. Nevermind doing it in a pinch against cable AHVP or Storm.

And I agree with the 1 vs 1 comment. The big 4 are not as scary without assists backing them up and Sim has the weapons to keep up with them.
