You could on the fly weapon swap your guns in DMC2 like you can guns in DA’s in DMC3, it was just limited to the guns only. Was pretty sweet but DMC3 took in a much more positive and useful direction.

Also while Gunslinger may just give you different attacks from Sword Master, it’s still a really different style of play from Sword Master, unless your abusing the hell out of Shotgun Stingering or something. That move was WTF broken lol.

Too bad Gunslinger was pretty much useless compared to all the other styles on higher difficulties.

Agreed, Swordmaster was the truth. Royal Guard did get fun on occasion though.

Since I’m not too fond of the characters look, I’m hoping that the gameplay does wonders.

I dunno what made you more OP in DMC3 when mastered: Jump canceling or Just Guarding/RR, lol.

With the right set up Gunslinger could be incredibly beastly…All the other styles had more flexible set ups and better applications tho yea.

can’t see how I missed this one:

Judging from the last vid these guys understand what’s expected of them and at the same time aren’t afraid to mix their idea of moving the franchise forward with what already works:tup:

by designing Dante after Tam, who looks like a British, metro sexual version of Rihanna on crack.

You’re so right. They really are moving the franchise forward into the right direction to this game directly into the clearance bargain bin at Toys R Us.

Do really think that Crapcom is going to sale 5 million units in a year off this game when the highest was only like, 27.5 million units?

Really?

They better pick their release window wisely.

Edit:

oh yeah…here’s pretty much 95% confirmation that the dmc collection is coming in some form

all it needs now is official confirmation.

Reading comprehension fail is reading comprehension fail.

it’s hard to say what’s going to really work when we still don’t even know what the fuck is really up with the full gameplay.

So with you on this. We can talk about the way he looks, but haven’t really seen anything that says that the gameplay will leave little to be desired (outside of the fact that NT is the developer). However, NT seems to have an idea about how this game is supposed to work, so I’m waiting to see something with a true HUD and move set before passing judgement.

So gonna be bought if this is the case. I just wonder if DMC3 will be the SE version or the initial release. Wasn’t the initial NA release more difficult than all of the others?

from what I remember, original DMC3 in NA was harder than the japanese version (normal=hard and so forth). I didn’t bother with SE but IIRC that was toned down right? I can’t remember if they amped the difficulty or not since I wasn’t sold on the tacked on extras.

That’s what I thought. I remember playing through the SE version and thought that it was easier. I only rented to to get down on the Bloody Palace mode and get the chance to play against Vante. I hope they just combine the two versions.

Yeah, SE was set to the original, Japanese settings (Normal is Normal, Hard is Hard, Vanilla NA DMC3 Hard=SE Very Hard). Also had Gold Mode, a mode that allowed you to continue if you died right outside the room you died in without a Yellow Orb. So in SE you didn’t have to restart the whole level like old DMC3.

oh yea now I vaguely remember. I also wasn’t so pleased with Vergil being half assed like everything else added.

Care to elaborate about Vergil being half assed? (other than a story tease at the beginning of his game)

Also “The cool things Dante did before aren’t the same as what’s cool today”. Is this man on some drugs or what? What ISN’T cool about what Dante does in DMC3? Go fuck yourself.

I might not have played much (which is obvious) but the bit I played from Vergil from my friend’s save just seemed like Dante with Vergil moves.

And everytime I hear this dude talk about how Dante isn’t cool in today’s standards always bothers me. No one’s bitched about how Dante wasn’t cool beforehand and people definitely won’t be saying Dino is cool with the current route they’re taking.

Do yourself a favor and go play as Vergil through the whole game. He isn’t just a copy + paste. He’s got a brand new moveset that is (imo) more fun than Dante’s. You can do everything Boss Vergil does and then some (minus the super attack he does in Vergil 3 fight)

I can’t play on anything but Trickster. I hate not being able to dodge attacks even when I see the visual/audio cues. The fucking HORRIBLE almost-totally vertical normal jump really doesn’t cut it.

Thank God for Bayonetta
