Just an FYI, the reason why Dante acts like Donte in the new DmC isn’t Tameem’s fault.
He designed Dante, had this neat way of approaching it, and frankly, I really enjoyed Tameem’s version of Dante. Problem was, Capcom said he acted too much like Their Dante and wanted Donte.

And thus, Donte was born.

Also, once my game is done (in like 3 - 4 years), I hope you guys are still around and play it cause it’s basically DMC but without Dante and I’m sure everyone will love me and give me great criticism!! WORSHIP MY DMC CLONE!!

I just suck at killing a Blitz. My issue with Nero is that I would prefer him to be a stand alone character with no ties to the Sparda bloodline(I wanted Vergil in DMC4). Because obviously, there must be other human/devil hybrids walking around or even if Nero was a prototype the Order created.

That being said, Nero has:

-Best Taunts
-Badass sword
-The hoodie+longcoat looks great
-Double barrel revolver
-Best lines during attacks

Nero may not be as over the top as Dante and thus not as fun in a creative sense but I never regret playing as him. I actually like his slim build compared to buff Dante. Vergil is hands down my favorite character, but nothing tops Red Queen imo.

I found the best way to kill a Blitz as Nero is to lvl3 charge the Blue Rose. Wait and make absolutely sure the shot hits. Let it fly. Do it a second time. A third if for some reason the lightning armor doesnt dissipate. After armor is gone, go into devil trigger and immediately hit him with a buster, while mashing the gun button. Run forward and Buster again. Now the hard part is this, try to land it a third time. The timing is super strict, but if you land it a third time, and then start shooting the Blitz afterwards, he enters rage mode and immediately goes into the death animation.

The third buster is the hardest part. If you dont land it you have to wait for him to die on his own and avoid him the whole time.

Farthest I’ve gotten on BP is 29 as Nero, all the way to the Blitz at the end of the stage. Got 27 as Dante. I just use Gilgamesh+Dark Slayer and Ebony/Ivory. I got bullshitted on 29 though. Right as I swung on the last lizard guy, the blitz tried to attack the lizard, charged directly into my attack and I hit him instead. Took the counter damage and GGPO’d

I hope when DMC4SE comes out, they ACTUALLY FINISH THE FUCKING GAME instead of giving us the same piece of shit with an extra character.

While I don’t agree with the piece of shit part of the comment, I do agree that it would be incredibly awesome if they finished the game with the SE. That would be fantastic.

IMO the last TRULY GREAT DMC game was 3SE. as much as i dig DmC, even it doesn’t measure up to 3SE.

The REAL enemy in this whole thing is not Tameem, not NT, not even the community (well, okay in a way they’re part of it) but Capcom. Capcom pushed out a half finished, boring piece of junk that was DMC4, the community ate it up, and now people are complaining? I’m not saying DmC is the greatest game to ever grace the world, but with 4, Capcom figured out they could put minimal effort into anything with Devil May Cry on the cover and it would probably sell. I’d say more effort was put into DmC than into 4. At least they finished that game rather than bloating it with copypasta levels.

At least DMC4 played well. I’d take an unfinished game with copy/paste levels but really polished, complex, and rewarding gameplay than a finished game with original levels that plays like ass. I don’t care how you feel about the asset reuse, there’s no way you can say that DMC4 Dante is not the best playable incarnation of the character that has existed thus far.

Sure DMC4 Dante is the best incarnation of him I guess, but they may as well have just released the game with him and Blood Palace mode. Otherwise DMC4 is a snoozefest.

DMC4 was half a game and the community did NOT eat it up. They began to overlook it because of how well the game played, but they were pretty pissed that half the game was backtracking.

Indeed? I was still playing PS2 when DMC4 came out so I wasn’t really around, but based on the opinions here, it seems like DMC4 is the game of choice among combo-porn enthusiasts because Dante, not because it’s a really great game. Maybe I’ll play it again just in case I missed something, but it was the first DMC game I didn’t immediately want to replay and yes, this includes 2, which was somewhat boring, but still…

On another note, I was drunk over at a friend’s house a couple weeks ago and she had a PS2 and a copy of DMC3SE laying around. I started a fresh game of it and man, is that shit fun. Is the PC version of DMC3 decent? I have it emulated in PCSX2 but it’s a little wonky graphically.

They dumbed down the combat and took out everything that made NG2/NGS2 good and threw it out the window. Razor’s Edge brought everything from NG2/NGS2 back for the most part+added some of its own mechanics like Steel on Bone which is goddamn awesome.

PC version of DMC3 is actually not that bad. The style switcher mod apparently fixes some things with it, and the only real bad thing are some frame drops with how the game handles the audio. Witch I’ve not seen much if at all since using the mod.

Also, guys, DMC3 with style switching. Vergil even has Quicksilver.

Everything about RE is better than Vanilla, you can still download the demo for Vanilla and check it out. Huge difference. I still think the game has a bunch of other problems that made it much less of a joy to play and more of a hassle. Too much slowdown and most of the boss battles were garbage, like the Helicopter and the Final Boss. Also, sliding, sliding everywhere. There were a few other things I didn’t like, but I can’t recall them off the top of my head. I liked the levels and the regular enemies though, that wasn’t all that bad. SoB was ok, too. Got a little boring seeing it after the 1000th time, and wish I could have just lopped a head off without the cinematic.

I loved NGS2 though. Never played Vanilla, but NGS2 was a damn near perfect action game. Hated the first NGS though, lol.
