lol wut? where did you get that from. dante is half demon, and ages like humans to our knowledge, unless i missed something in the dmc1 and 2 story line. hes practically immortal it seems. maybe at some point he stops aging, but i dont know anything about dante being hundreds of years old. which doesnt matter, because fact of the matter is, his mature character that was last seen in dmc4 is outdated to them, and they wanted a reboot.
the more i watch the trailer, im over the emo thing. i dont like that he doesnt fit his coat well though. 
but whatever. gameplay def needs to be faster then dmc4, or im going to have a fucking hissy fit. i like that the game seems darker. i dont know if i like that his main weapon, his sword has transformable properties, because i see where they are going with that and we’ll see how it plays out, but i was content on his sword just being a sword and not having to be some multi tasking weapon that can grapple things, turn into a spear, ect… but it could be fun
Remember that Dante was supposed to look ugly as fuck in DMC4, then they changed the design back to something familiar? It might happen again.
It won’t because Capcom wants a look for Dante that “appeals to the western audience”, aka the same rough looking white guy we’ve seen in every western action game ever created. It doesn’t help that the new Dante looks like emo Prince.

Yeah, as a long time fan of the Devil May Cry of old (which isn’t old at all) I feel this reboot is a complete waste of time. I -liked- just about everything the series offered, except for 2. Dante and Vergil were awesome designs, had over the top attitude, and as others have stated, hell, the entire series touched the western audience just fine!
And I’m probably in the minority, but I -really- liked Nero, almost more than Dante and Vergil. He was a pissed off kid, with an unstated connection to Vergil and Dante. His moves had flare, yeah, but they were tempered with a touch of righteous fury. Felt great punching the hell outta things.
I can’t get behind the… Christ, this just looks like Twilight. Poor Dante.
Oy. I really hate Capcom for even letting Ninja Theory touch this series, after seeing this. Then again, I guess they felt they hit a dead end with where the story took them. That’s disappointing, let me tell ya. I liked the canon as it existed, as well as the art style, music and direction. Well, at least there’s still God of War for awesomeness.
Well there has to be a reason Dante looks like this, that’s a part of the story. But the appearance might change up a bit before release… hopefully so he looks less like Twilight guy on freebase.
Here’s where I am on it.
This is and was an unnecessary reboot to the franchise. They could’ve easy let Ninja Theory do something similar instead of just name dropping because Capcom gave their permission.
This proves that Capcom and Platnium need to kiss and make up. Same with Arika. Let them make Viewtiful Joe, DMC, Okami, God Hand and EX the way they should be by the people that put their energies to creating these franchises.
As far as DmC goes, show me some gameplay so I can love it or hate it with justification.
DMC2 isn’t as bad as everyone said it was. I still think it was a decent game it just came with a lot of shell shock IMO.
Hopefully the haters are wrong. It’s all in the hands of Ninja Theory and Capcom now.

Nothing about this Dante screams ‘‘Rough looking Western Guy’’. If he looked like Kratos or Snake I’d be disappointed but not disgusted. Instead he looks like an vegan emo.

This is not DMC. Seriously, no sick over the top action with god-tier matrix style cutscenes? Dante looking like that guy from twilight? Being made by Ninja Theory (LOL)? What?!!
Please just rename the game and then I’ll be able to look at this without disgust. Heavenly Sword was a good game overall but the fighting was CRAP! I will buy this regardless since my curiosity knows no bounds, but I am not happy or excited at all, which is rare when it comes to DMC announcements. Oh well, at least I have my Bayonetta.

them saying they wanted to appeal to a western audience is just their way of saying, you emo, rebel fucks are spreading like wild fire worldwide, we see it, and want to make a game you can identify with
I don’t know how Ninja theory is gonna make this work. I honestly was not too big of a fan of Heavenly Sword. The pace of that game felt more GOW-ish than DMC. And honestly I think GOW is a decent series, but it’s like the Mortal Kombat of the action game genre. It’s really popular with blood and stuff but theres not much after the initial wow factor. I’ve played the DMC games over and over (except 2 and I didn’t get to beat Dante’s part on DMD because I had stuff come up) but GOW always felt like something to experience the level design at least once (which is DMC4’s weakness).
Plus when something just doesn’t sit right with me. And honestly a whip sword again? Oh well, as long as I can do Devil Triggered Shoryukens I can have some fun.

huh. its a 2 minute trailer. um, dmc4 tgs trailer isnt something to write home about at all either, and clearly doesnt look as good as the new dmc. i think we will get a new trailer soon, if not another one at tgs that includes gameplay action.

This is what I never understood. As from last I remember, the western audience ate this game up while the East weren’t all that crazy for it.
