Is it weird that I think the DMC3 costume doesn’t really fit on him, and am not really interested in it, but the costume I would actually pay for is just his usual outfit with the hood up? (And while on that note, how come we didn’t get that for Nero? Seems like the easiest alt idea in the world).

I really like the DMC1 Dante with his Coat off costume from DMC3. That costume is swag and should be in every DMC as an alt.

While not quite as easy, DMC4 did have the ability to allow both Nero and Dante to be airborne almost permanently. Ofc, it required a lot of jump cancelling compared to just using the right move at the right time for maximum airtime.

Edit: Since it’s only $5 and I get Vergil’s Downfall for free (ty GS) I’ll probably get the costumes. The Dark Dante and DMC3 ones are good, but I don’t like Neo Dante myself. Perhaps they can release costumes later that are similar to DMC1, 2, and 4?

I’m more or less saying it’s not challenging to stay airborne and thus not as satisfying when performed or wowing to watch. These stylish guys will have to find something different to do than JC repeatedly or never touch the ground.

And Dante can’t scoop people into the air while airborne in DMC4, so he would have to air trick to get around to the next enemy just repeat doing an air attack on a grounded enemy. Nero could thanks to Devil Bringer though.

Argh, that’s what I meant. DMC1 and DMC4. I wasn’t sure on if it set up DMC4 because I’m the evilest mother fucker that ever was and have never played 4.

People are still complaining about unskippable cutscenes? I swear, some of you have never used a controller before in your lives. Seriously. Protip: Press select. And that works in the demo, too. I know; I tried.

Also, another “paid” review, I suppose?

Sometimes I wonder why I keep coming back to this thread when it gives me such a headache.

EDIT: Oh, and this one too.

It’s funny because he played every older DMC before this one, and still rated DmC as second only to the original. OH, THE CONTROVERSY.

Nero was one of those characters that was fun as all hell if you knew what to do with him. Sadly, I never was any good with him, but I haven’t played 4 in quite some time, so I’ll probably try doing so again when I can.

Max was the herald of SFXT a former gamestop manager so pretty much the guys NT were trying to please. who gives a shit what he says. By his own word hes a mediocre video game player by choice.

“I give DMC3 and DMC4 both 8/10 and the new DmC a 9/10”

Why does anyone listen to this asshole again? Even Dip Shit Phil had enough common sense to realize the major issues with it, and he fucking sucks at understanding game mechanics.

I love it when people act as though DMC3 is like the end-all, be-all of action games. It makes the salt all the more delicious. I seriously question when the last time some of you guys actually PLAYED DMC3 was. I’ve been playing ALL the DMC’s(excluding 2) the past few weeks, and DMC3 is definitely nowhere NEAR the level some people make it out to be. I would easily place DMC1, 4, and DmC above DMC3, at least in terms of my own personal enjoyment. The only thing I thought DMC3 really got perfect was the control scheme, and 4 had that as well, so I ain’t even mad.

That’s fine, have it below 1, 4, and DmC in terms of your personal enjoyment.
In terms of my, and a fair amount of other people, DMC3 is above the others. Some prefer 4 the most, others prefer 1 the most.

So, what is it exactly you’re trying to say?

I fail to see any controversy here. He is entitled to his opinion and own personal taste. The fact of the matter is that a majority of old school fans find DmC lacking in many departments.

If somebody likes this new game better then more power to them, but one person’s opinion doesn’t somehow invalidate all other opinions.

Nero was such a boring character, and lack luster compared to Dante, and the twins in 3.

Never really got the fun, aside from max rev’s which were awesome

Game freezing glitches were found by people not even trying to intentionally break the game… multiple people discussing triggering the same glitch was rare in previous installments…

Today.

yo man, look at all dat air combat, YOUR SOOOO GODLIKE!!!

on the real though i was trying to tell people just how easy it was to stay in the air in my breakdown, not seeing enemies drag you down means the game is really easy. I certainly didn’t expect dante to be able to drag all the enemies up to HIM to be combo fodder with the discs, nor the big dudes.

some of them were ok, pretty slow paced for dmc combos but what can you do. i’m glad to see that kablooee is basically nero’s gun (loved that thing). disc combos were cool, i’m a little disgusted that he managed to whiff a rainstorm? and still keep his air combo on the monster above him, you would think gravity might have something to say at some point.

2 or 3 months ago on dmc HD collection was the last i played 3 and 1. have not played 4 in a bit but i played the crap out of it.

I disagree he actually had a point, he was an actually person.
Hell he is the most complex character in the damn series, and i found his game-play is the best

unless it’s backed up with facts, aka THE TRUTH.

Idunno about that, to me it seemed like all the interesting parts about his character was just locked in the backstory and barely ever affected the plot.

Charge Shotgun is more like Nero’s gun. I think I posted a vid of someone using charge shotgun shot on an enemy in here.
