Devil May Cry!

the 5 million was exaggerated, I don’t think even Tameem took that seriously. It’s pretty inconceivable that the game would sell as much as DMC3 and 4 combined on their first go at appealing to Western mass-market gamers.

I hear this game makes DMC2 and NGIII look triple AAA in comparison.

REWIND!!! The debut trailer is actually more exciting than anything I’ve seen in the game. Who would have thought this one trailer has the most over the top action than the game itself.

Can’t wait to see the reviews for this game. So much salt is gonna be spread and I honestly can’t wait to see people say the usual, “Oh obviously the reviewer got paid”.

I mean have you seen some of the games they give 8s and 9s to? There’s no standards lol

Any DMD videos out there yet? I’ll probably cop sooner if DMD mode actually requires skill. I saw one mission with an enemy that looked straight out of Ninja Gaiden, in terms of defending and attacking. If DMD mode is filled with those dudes, I’ll get this asap, off of the skrenf.

If you want a sequel to this game, you hate everything about the original DMC games and you should leave.

That’s not saying much.

85 so far on metacritic. Make of that what you will I guess, but if you believe in the over-inflated initial reviews theory, then it will probably drop from there.

gametrailers review… got a pretty high rating… 8.5

Skimming the reviews out now

I really wonder how NT and Capcom are taking the combat is good and meh with everything else.

IGN is mentioning some issues with PS3 version compared to the 360.

Yep, because DMC1 totally isn’t one of my favorite games ever. Oh, wait.

EDIT: Telegraph gave this game 100, and EGM gave it a 95. Fanboy rage incoming.

Game looks pretty cool with all weapons at the same time. I just wish the Demon weapons weren’t so fucking limited and lame. Eryx is a massive disappointment and it’s the only weapon I’d actually buy a skin for since it looks so fucking silly. Gonna spend DT on Demon-only enemies to get rid of them quickly because using Arbiter and Eryx is gonna take forever.

Destructiod reviwed it and gave it a 9/10

I guess reviewers just like easier games nowadays.

EDIT: Oh, Jim Sterling reviewed it? Makes sense, since he’s the same guy that gave Vanquish a 5/10 for being “tepid”, of all things.

where is this world heading

That was fucking painful to watch. At the very least it’s a good indicator of where the industry and standards are heading, or where they might be already.

Even Polygon, the only review site I will accept the existence of, rated the game an 8. Though they did say fans of the previous games will be wary and wont find anything new.

???

Chances are they have no idea of what they are talking about. Cause everything in this pos game is “new”.

I’m still really on the fence about this game. There seems to be some fun to be had, but I don’t know if it’s worth sixty bucks.

I’ve always taken “professional” reviews with a big grain of salt, but all of the reviewers praising the story/characters is giving me serious cause for concern about the state of the industry.

Somehow, Adam Sessler has become the voice of reason:
