For me there was always this weird disconnect that Dante was (for all practical purposes) invincible in cut scenes but could get his ass destroyed during gameplay. I suppose I preferred for stuff to just be comboed. It fits the theme of Dante never really being in danger because he’s so powerful. Though, DMC2 did this correctly, and that was one of the reasons it was so ass (Dante was way too powerful in gameplay)…so I guess I kind of agree with you.
Yea, people will get my impressions on the game once I actually play the whole thing. I don’t think the game is perfect, btw. I think it’s a fucking travesty that I can’t taunt, for example. I hate how bland the weapon designs are (though, besides Eryx, I like their movelists), and Kat should have ABSOLUTELY been named Mary for the purposes of this game. Having Lady tie into the plot in the capacity that Kat is, would have been perfect. I feel like my ideas to modify what the game is now would make it perfect but hey, don’t we all?
