You guys are looking at this all wrong. Not sure of your MMO backgrounds, but…
…this is completely normal. There’s always a lack of content during an MMO’s early days. No matter what the genre. People only make it worse on themselves by wanting to blast through any new piece of content as quickly as possible.
Everything you guys are complaining is almost verbatim to complaints every other MMO has had before. Early adopters need patience. Compare to other MMO’s, Destiny hasn’t seen a real nerf yet. Do some research and look up “Burn” for Fire Tanks in City of Heroes - THAT was a nerf.
I’ll admit that this upcoming expansion could use a bit more meat compared to other MMO’s first expansions, but I’m not going in hardcore yet, so there’s still plenty for me to do.
Xur is selling the Patience and Time. He will also sell a special respawn modifier if you talk to him with the Jackolyte head on.
Every MMO out there has far more content then this game as well. Not to mention Bungie is adamant that Destiny is NOT an MMO.
Every other MMO has been around a lot longer than Destiny has and guess what? More than half of that content wasn’t there within the first YEAR of launch. I warned you guys earlier this month that MMO’s are notoriously light on content in their early days. You can’t blitz through content, then complain that there’s nothing left to do. The initial content is designed to whet your appetite for more and despite all the complaining - you want more.
Whether Bungie wants to brand Destiny an MMO - it’s still an MMO. It looks like one, it plays like one and they’re treating it like one.
It seems like you guys are looking for instant gratification and an MMO is the last place to find it.
I know all about MMO’s played Vanilla WOW, Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 and Beta a bunch of them and they all had more content then this game does. I want to love this game, there is definitely something there. I am just being honest when I say they are going to lose quite a bit of their audience with the way things have been done and all the games cutting out.
Just want to say that borderlands had WAY more content out of the box than destiny…
Yeah do not get me wrong I have put over a 100 hours in this game, so there is definitely something there. This game has pieces there, they just are not put together.

Please don’t get me wrong, the game isn’t perfect - but I don’t think that’s due to lack of content. More so that most of the lore has to be read offline (Grimoire’s) and other small things that don’t make much sense.
If I could change one thing about the game besides the grimoire issue, I’d give each class more variations. Right now, there are essentially only 6 builds in the game - that’s pretty low for even a new MMO, especially when some are better than others. There needs to be a bit more character building variables.

well, if u have a Void Sniper or Void Fusion just equip Icebreaker and when it’s 6 rounds switch to other weapon and you’ll have 11 rounds
Man, I shoulda have just bought 3 IceBreakers when i had the chance. makes special ammo so easy
yeah. That’s the trick I use for fast reloads of special ammo. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any void snipers. now I have both a sniper and a fusion. Sweet.

NERF: That is such an appropriate name for what they do to the game. By the time Bungie gets through with Destiny, it will be as if you’re shooting a foam-firing plastic pea-shooter. I most likely will be only doing patrols (If even that) until my last pre-order DLC falls. after that, don’t expect much attendance outta me unless they add something to the game that makes all of you go fucking retard in a good way in this thread.
EDIT: Oh yeah. I also got Toland’s Legacy from the weekly strike. That shit is gonna be sitting there for the long haul. believe it. My man weed face is gonna have to file a missing person report for me until Dec, maybe even later.

Just because something has always happened doesn’t make it right. Bungie knew the calibur of people they were selling the game to. Console FPS fans, not MMO veterans. These are people who piss through a Halo game in a few days. Of course players are gonna ‘go in hardcore.’ They want to enjoy their 60 investment. There should’ve at least been as much content as something like Reach, or, at the very least, a major difference in classes and things worth grinding for (not a new weapon that has a few more attack points and a slightly different effect). PVP was probably planned to keep the game afloat until the first expansion, but the lack of content compared to other games (hell, even vanilla Titanfall had more maps and modes), even MMOs in their infancy, means that the game could end up like Defiance real fast.
I think you need me. Might play some Destiny tomorrow to fill time until AW is ready and I can play the Day 0.
