Spy and I tried the Black Spindle mission for a good 3 hours last week.

We would’ve had it too if we were higher light! Whenever that mission comes up again, I’m gonna make sure I get it. I haven’t ran the nightfall this week, I’ve actually been looking for a reason as to why I should do it lol. Maybe I’ll do it tonight though when the gf leaves for work
What is your light level?
At the time, we were both around 280. I think it was doable for us, but we went about the last room all wrong.
Looking back on it, I should’ve stealthed around the room taking out portals and majors while he focused the boss until we were able mop up the adds. Instead we tried splitting up the work on portals, so we either ended up missing some in the back of the room or couldn’t DPS the boss down in enough time.
Man that chest peice is op in the right hands… pvp would be silly. I also need to do the shield bros heroic mission and kill them with shotguns if anyones down… my 270 light is crappy… The 3 of coins dropped 2 strikes in a row for me earlier on. I got the forth horseman and the here after.
What did you guys spend you legendary marks on first? i want to get the 100 yard stare and the vanity but i also need leg armor for my titan and warlock. Does the raid give you boots that holds extra heavy?
Always go for armor, it improves your light and chances of getting higher light level drops.
Weapons improve your light too though. Everything does.
First thing I bought was the vanguard ghost, the one that detects wormspore. I got blue gauntlets, chest, and leg armor that are in the high 290s just from doing strikes and equipping my highest level gear when decoding engrams. But I couldn’t get a freakin ghost to drop, so I bought it to boost my level up a little more.
Weapons also increase your light, though. It’s an average of all equipable gear, including class items, ghost shells, and artifacts.
True, but armor weights more when calculating your over all light, plus it is harder to kill you with better armor.

Does armor really weigh more for your overall light level? Because I was under the impression that it was an average of all your gear. I went from 294 to 297 just by equipping a 309 rocket launcher.
Edit: I just did the math. My current gear values are as follows:
Primary: 295…Helmet: 290
Special: 300…Chest: 295
Heavy: 309…Gloves: 295
Ghost: 300…Boots: 298
…Class Item: 295
… Artifact: 300
The sum of those values (2977) divided by the number of equipped items (10) is 297.7.
On my character screen it says my light level is 297, and the little yellow progress bar looks to be about 7/10ths full, indicating how close I am to 298. So it looks to be an average, where all items are weighted equally.
I knew that chestpiece was gonna be awesome when I read the description. Can’t believe Titans on Bungie.net feel like they got the shaft. They easily have the best set of new Exotics of any class.
Apparently they got in via a glitch. Still nice to know for whenever it’s the Daily.

There is also a chance that is a secret area only accessible via a quest, like the area under the floor on the final room on the stealth codes mission, where you kill a cabal for a quest.
Nightfall is solar burn on Undying Mind. Can’t wait to try my Sun Breaker out.
So i managed to get my titan up to 290… done a nightfall and got… another set of ruin wings but at lvl 290… and an exotic engram… another 4th horsman (lvl 290) lol doubles week for me :s Also snagged this: http://www.destinydb.com/items/4049432596-treads-upon-stars all it needs is solar damage and auto fire and my visions can be deleted.
