might just be RNG, but i can also attest to this, me and 3 others got 3 radiant shards only and the one guy got an armor piece and black hammer and shards…like wtf?
also xur is selling icebreaker, went and picked up my 3rd one. so every toon can wield one without transferring in vault.

Yea, I think if they’re going to reward you with shards or coins, it needs to be more than what you could get from the nightfall or weekly.
Btw the rare scout rifle stalker bngl is probably the sexiest gun in the game
They fixed that with the last patch. You won’t get less than 9 coins for a nightfall anymore.
Need a 36 head and chest for my Hunter to reach lvl32. Hopefully I can get the chest from Crota tonight, then just buy the exotic helmet from Xur.
Those Crota primaries are just looking way too sweet. Except the pulse rifle, b/c y’know… it’s a pulse rifle.

i already got an IB. but the thing is so useful, I’m considering getting another just for my alts.
Hopefully I won’t be the only one with an Icebreaker in Raid groups anymore. I told so many friends to buy it the first time and they all said “nah, it’s just a sniper, i’ll save my coins for something better”. 
This. I don’t have one (buying tonight hopefully), but IB is such a useful weapon that anyone with the coins should have one after this weekend - especially if you plan on raiding.
Seeing as we have a thoughtful group of folks posting here, how do you all feel about it being sold in the first place? I was (no so) surprised to see people upset on the Bungie forums b/c those who got it from a drop felt like they “earned” it and those who buy from Xur didn’t have to “grind” for it.
Personally, I don’t feel you can earn something that’s random. The only thing we earn is a chance to roll those dice and whatever we get is what we get. True that some items shouldn’t be included in certain loot tables, but overall I don’t understand the idea that I specifically earned my Suros Regime during that Roc playlist.
At the end of the day, it’s just elitists getting upset that they don’t have something to hold over the heads of newbies and/or those who just haven’t been fortunate enough to get one to drop.
Well, I mean, I don’t care either way. I’m just happy to finally have it after I was told time and again how useful it is for Raids.
That said, I got Mythoclast last night, so I understand that getting something really rare is a rush, and it does feel diminished when everyone gets what you got.
But like I say when a money card gets reprinted in Yugioh, just deal with it.
Think u hit it right on. Niggas complaining on forums that they earned something from RNG is absolutely retarded. Not to even mention they sold IB before…but lets act like that never happened. Same with the Gjallahorn. Sometimes I swear people are never happy. Niggas complain when Xur doesnt sell shit, then when he sells something almost everyone can use, that hasnt been rewarded to people (cuz I’m sure most of here and most people who’ve raided and so forth all have put even a little time in to acquire the little content in destiny there is) they bitch and moan about that to. I don’t like the mindset of people who say they “earned” their gear from drops, and not wanting people to have what they have. I find that type of thinking to be selfish and childish.
A level 2 dreg can drop a Legendary Engram that becomes an Exotic, I don’t see that as “earning” it.
Same goes for all the Raid elitists. Being level 30 or 32 didn’t mean you were more skilled, it means you were more lucky. Before Crota DLC, I was stuck at level 29 because I never got the Raid Chest or Helmet to drop. You can’t earn things that are random. There’s nothing skillful about getting a Found Verdict over getting Ascendent Shards.
I’m fine with Xur selling Exotics. If anything, you could say you “earned” them because you’re spending a currency that you get for completing Public Events, Strikes, Weeklies, and Nightfalls. If you want Exotics, you still have to play the game. Xur is pretty much a guarantee that if you invest some time with the game, you wont go completely empty handed Exotic wise.
The only thing that would make Xur unfair is if he sold the Vex, Raid Weapons or Exotic Bounty Weapons because they all require you to complete somewhat difficult task to acquire them, but it’s already been found out that Xur’s loot pool does not contain these items.
xur sold ice breaker before, thats how i got my first one. then i got another from a nightfall like 2 weeks after. then i just bought my 3rd one from xur today.
Glad I got IB the first time around, made things easier. Very useful. I was itching for one when I migrated to a different console. Just in time! BTW, anybody still on 360? I want to run VoG but nobodies on :(. What’s a good website to match make for runs?

Yea if you can handle it solo. I dont think 3 coins will be that hard to grind… Although at the mercy of rng with something you want you could probably do 50 strikes and never see a coin… You will instead be rewarded with 70 motes of light.
