Denjin Podcast Thread : Epi6 is up with Haunts and Mr Bean!

These are pretty much the questions I wanted to ask.

combojack: any particular tips against el fuerte’s mixup besides back dash. Maybe some specific things to look for that are easily punishable, good normals to use, etc. i find this match to be extremely frustrating (one of my worst) thanks in advance

I guess before people keep submitting questions I should say this episode is already a wrap and due to release in a few days. Although I think Keno and Jack may return for another episode if we continue to get this many questions. Thanks for the interest guys!

Did you ask about the Keno Eye? I must know!

of course! I’d say it yielded some of the most interesting discussion of the episode.

ah dang i was too late! guess ill have to find out the old fashioned way… practice! haha

updated OP with information on getting ep 4. sorry about quality on it, equipment was being a bit of a bitch. enjoy!

Episode 4 is out and I think its very informative. If Jack and I are lucky enough to come back and do another Podcast I will answer all the questions you guys have. So just in case we do come back you guys should be writing all the questions you want to know. Jesus & Dae FTW!

Back at you man! Sorry we didn’t get to hang out much. Maybe if you can offer some free beignets I can make my way down to NO :lovin:

It’s been a while, but we’re back, and I’m hoping to get some questions from you guys for our next show featuring…

Mr. Bean (from episode 3)
haunts (norcal Sagat player and webmaster of IPlayWinner)

who both just returned from Japan! Some of you may have heard the podcast I did with haunts for his website (and if you haven’t please check it out @ www.iplaywinner.com), but there is just so much to cover about the SBO trip (especially since we didn’t talk much about SF4), that we’re doing this podcast again about SBO. Of course we’ll probably cover some of the non gaming related antics that went on. So please, if you have any questions, post in this thread, or email them to denjinpodcast@gmail.com

hey pherai, im glad to hear you guys had a great time in japan, got some good games in

anyway, i have a question for you guys, i was wondering if any of you guys had a similar experience that i had during my time in japan.
now, i didnt play in tokyo, so it might have been a completely different experience, but in my area when i would play i would actually do surprisingly well. i often beat players that i just knew were better than me. i summed it up to the fact that i play a completely akward play style and that not many japanese players play like i do or are used to that kind of play. i was wondering if any of the players on your guys pilgrimage had this sort of experience, where they seemingly took some japanese players by surprise

second one:
every once in a while i would run into a player that was just the complete anti thesis of how i played. no matter what i did, i just couldn’t do anything, not because they were turtling me out (plenty of aggressive or risky decisions) or doing something i had never seen, but just because they knew what to do at the exact right times that would just completely shut me down or force me to play in a way that i was not comfortable playing and therefor losing. for some reason this was usually the reclusive looking guy that was hunched over, wore glasses and didnt say a single word or turned his head the whole time he played. again i just wanted to hear your guys thoughts on this, as im sure you guys ran into this kind of player in japan-

hopefully spark some good discussion on japanese vs american play style or mindset.
looking forward to the podcast and hopefully see all you guys at wcw!

id like to ask haunts and bean what are some of the more advanced tactics they learned for both 3s and sf4, like the uses for sagats kara tiger shot, and also whats the percentage of people over there doing red parries in 3s, like i remember bean writing somewhere that mov would red parry the second hit of his cr short short, was that only mov or was everyone doing that?

To Haunts what playstyle differences do you see from Norcal and Socal and what are your guys’s worst matchup and best

I request more Shogo.
