Denjin Mode details, tech, and discussion

There is no known mechanic to make V-Trigger Hadouken charge faster.

Hi guys,
Has anybody ever noticed whether Ryu changes foot position forwards or backwards during an EX Fireball in VT?
I was testing some unblockable setups in training mode and I couldn’t figure why Dhalsim could hit me with wake up Critical Art only some of the time, and I think the reason is that you can slightly alter whether Ryu slides forward or backward as he slips into the EX FB animation.

Try this setup versus Dhalsim and see if you get the same result as me:

Recording Dhalsim doing a wake up super. Then record him doing a st.HP or st.MK and set it to playback (EDIT: See the video I posted below for a visual example of this).
At the default starting position in training mode, have Ryu do a crush counter (CH) sweep vesus Dhalsim’s stretched limb.
Cancel into VT then pause the game, and switch Dhalsim from playback to the default dummy so he’ll do wake up super.

Then whiff st.HK and immediately charge EX FB and release.

Now sometimes Dhalsim would catch my extended arms, but sometimes he wouldn’t.
I can’t figure out if my timing is off or if I can actually slightly nudge Ryu backwards sometimes.

The motion I’m using is quarter circle forward and then ending with the stick in up/back or back (kind of like a partial SOD motion).

The thing that complicates this is that the extra motion I’m doing is probably just delaying my fireball slightly…but if that were the case I would think that my EX Fireball would hit Dhalsim (rather than passing right through him like it normally does, due to his invincibility).

What do you guys think?

Also, here’s a video of some setups Ryu has versus Dhalsim after landing a full screen crush counter sweep.

Ill test it out somewhere this week and i’ll get back to you
