Demon's/Dark Souls Thread. Dark Souls II!

Oh lmao, where do I use this key at again? That white orb thing in the forest by the firepit?

Any tips for Capra Demon? Thrust attacks seem to work well, but then again I only use thrusting attacks when I use the Balder Side Sword. Love that weapon.

I was thinking about picking this up but I have only 2 days left on my break. How much content is in this game? I hear there is NG+ and stuff like tthat (which sounds really awesome). How much bang for your buck would you get out of this game? I’m leaning toward getting this over something like Deus Ex because I always heard good things bout this and Demon Souls. The only bad thing is I heard its hard to play with your friends. I don’t know the specifics about the problem though.

Firebomb the shit out of him from atop the arch next to the stairs. Barring that, use Fireballs or Soul Arrows. If you gotta go melee, use the plunging attack while he’s below you and repeat.

I’d say I put about eighty hours into Demon’s Souls, and only stopped because my PS3 broke. I’d say Dark Souls is about the same.

Run up the stairs at the start, and try to get rid of the dogs. He is a very easy boss once you get rid of them.

I’d use the 20k to buy the forest key, you’ll make it back in less than 5 minutes using that soul farming trick.

I wanna do that but where do I use the key? lol. Is it this sealed door next to the hidden firepit in the Darkroot area?

Nevermind, it worked on that one. I didn’t know I’d get stuck in there though lol.

Ok, it’s official… I can’t beat the Capra Demon on my own. It locks me down too fast… I need help :(… I’m SL 17.

Ok so…

[details=Spoiler]I just got done with an epically intense batle of survival against that hydra down in the Ash Lake and stumbled upon a huge ass Dragon, I chose to enter it’s covenant but I have some questions.

  1. What is the purpose of the covenant
  2. It asks me to give him Dragon Scales, I have a few of them but what’s the purpose of it? Don’t wanna waste them unless it’s something worthwhile. [/details]

Dragon

[details=Spoiler]The covenant allows you do duel people for Dragon Scales. It also gives you two “stones” that change the look of your character into a bad-ass dragon person (this happens if you give enough Dragon Scales).

P.S. Chop off that Dragon’s tail for another Dragon weapon. [/details]

Need this for future references, just got done with the Capra boss.

You don’t need to fight that guy to progress the “story”. Come back later when you are stronger.

Infact that leads you on kind of a shitty path overall. The better path is through

Darkroot Garden -> Darkroot Basin -> Drake’s whatever -> Blighttown

.

Ok, thanks for the tip.

From what I’ve read…Getting to Darkroot Garden involves getting past the Titanite Demon, correct?

Just run past him if you can’t kill him. You’d run through the room if it were empty anyway.

I agree completely. That shortcuts all the worst parts of Blighttown too. The only issue is some stuff that you miss out on.

I’m still stuck in the goddamn stupid parish lol, I had no idea running past the drake would get you a save point either. That would have made my life so much easier. But I’m past all that now anyway, at the bonfire near the blacksmith. Died to the one mage boss that one shot me for 70% health, lost humanity, gave up. Don’t even have the strength to use the drake sword. /salt

Not too sure how accurate this is, but this is a basic idea on what path you should be taking when playing the game.

Correct/Best path?

Lots of areas and bosses are optional as far as I see, with the only point in going there being to get the loot and explore. If you are using the drake tail, then it is easy to just smash your way through the game by only hitting where you need to. And some areas you just trigger the name for it but don’t actually do anything there.

If that list is for enemy levels/difficulty, then it still depends on what weapon you have, and how quickly you can adapt to the enemy patterns and peculiarities-- as long as you have enough HP to not be 1-shotted by every attack they have. The very first thing I did was kill the boss in the catacombs, and that still wasn’t the worst thing I had to do.

Never said it did…

1 humanity = +5 estus flasks when refilling at that bonfire.

There’s a few different paths you can take, depending on how difficult you want it to be.

I’ve been summoned by the cat once, waited around for an hour and nothing. I left but still have the ring on, will he still summon me or do I have to be in the area to defend the forest?
