It’s fine. I’m actually not as far as you. I was up until I hit Anor Londo, but I haven’t really been able to play. I have the Guide though, so I can still help.
To get “Cast Light” you have to go back to where you killed the Hydra and walk along the left side of the lake. You’ll fight a special Crystal Golem and upon defeating it you will release a spirit. Talk to the spirit and then she will place Summon Signs around the Forest where you can summon her and buy from her wares. The closest summon sign is on the right side of the Hydra’s lake. BTW “Cast Light” requires 14 INT.
In the end, you can have 99 in every stat. I’m not too worried about my stats as of right now though. After I beat the game, I’m going to do a no Drake Sword run…where shit matters.

I heard that it takes like 400 million souls total for like the last 30 levels, and I’m always low on souls because I die so often and basically just run through areas until I hit the boss. I’m maybe level 40 now.
These int/faith requirements are killing me.
It’s more like 100 billion for the last 30 levels.
I had some epic runs pre-Drake sword discovery. My weekend is coming up so I’ll be able to play again.

Ok, for anyone that has their game fuck up, you can shoot the drake tail from beneath the bridge too. I don’t even need the sword anymore since my falchion is better. I’m still too shook to go up against the boss that ruined me last time, so now I’m dicking around with upgrading weapons. Also finally found a thief ring.
Does anybody know if you can use a Homeward Bone during boss encounters?

so how do you actually kill that red dragon? it regenerates health. ive able to time it to where i can run through while it’s healing but how do you just kill it without it regenerating health?
also what exactly do covenants do? i remember one time i was just walking around and i started glowing white like i first did when i chose the covenant from that faith dude in firelink.

Im struggling with this game, its great. Seems odd to say that, I have died about 100 times. It took me forever to even get through the undead burg, I stuck about there levelling up, I couldnt kill that knight who is down those stairs blocking that pathway. The boss on the bridge, I missed the ladder until I had levelled up so I most likely was levelling up in the previous area for no reason. I stayed in that area for the best part of 6 hours haha. Oh well.
How do you get a critical hit from behind? I thought you just had to be locked on and attack from close without being spotted. So often I just get a normal hit. Is there something else to it?
You can buy the same spell more than once and put it in another slot for extra uses.

Yes you can! I had to do it against the bell gargoyles the first time. When I came back it turned out to be an easy fight, just like Capra. Seriously man try to roll under his attack to the right. Once you get onto the stairs and kill the dogs it becomes easy. He only has two attacks it seems and the one he uses most often you can block. Hell once you get past his first knockdown attack you could probably just block him and the dogs as long as you stick close enough that he doesnt lunge at you.
Is there any way to get more of the item that curses you? New Londo Ruins is annoying.
Criticals and backstabs are two different things. Criticals happen when you hit the enemy during their attack, and probably some other methods. Backstabs can only be done on humanoid, non-large enemies.

The merhant chick at the end of the hallway sells then for 4000, pretty steep. Or you could do what I did and get cursed for real. Huge relief in there… Okay so I got cursed by accident and fought my way to the NPC that cures you only to find you need humanity for him to cure you and I spent all mine kindling. I’m thinking of just continuing on while I am cursed, just the half health is a bit of a botch.
Yeah, I found the merchant before I saw your message. Can you use the fire resin against the ghosts? And where do you go to get cursed?
Capra Demon’s kicking my ass at the moment.

I imagine the fire resin works on the ghosts for more damage but you still need to be cursed I imagine. I suggest you get past Capra demon before heading back there. Or go to the church if you haven’t. You can get cursed in the area after Capra demon, but I wouldn’t do it in purpose. It kills you, halves your health and keeps you hollow until you cure it.
Ok, thanks. I’m gonna try that but, before I do, I wanna run in, recover my souls and humanity, then port out. Does the Homeward Bone activate fast enough to get me out before I get killed? I never used one before and I don’t wanna waste one.
Daaaaamn… how about that Gaping Dragon, everybody? XD
(not quite as big as the Dragon God from Demon’s, but still… this thing is actually free and running around after you)
Kindling gives you 10 flasks at the Bonfires instead of 5
The magic merchant guy in the bell tower sells the curse breaking thing for 3000 Souls
On that Capra Demon, if you have a decent roll, roll over to the stairs on the left and the dogs should follow you up for easy kills on the stairs/ledge. If you hang out on the ledge just to the right of the stairs, the Capra Demon should walk beneath you so can do the dropping slash move on him. Then roll to the stairs, run up, repeat. I got him on my first try, but my friend warned me what was coming.

Put it in your item bar and after you hit it quickly press yes and it should be almost instant. How the hell do I get back from Blighttown. God this place was hell… Kinda don’t wanna continue yet hahah
