Went to drop the Brass scope for the fragrant ring. Winged girl got happy and I go to pick up what she dropped and picked up the scope again and now I can’t drop it to try and trade again. It gave me the option to pick up scope but not the ring?
You mean you just dropped the item, she spoke, and then you picked it back up? You need to drop the item and then reload the game, the easiest is way is to just quit from the menu and then load your game, you will be right back where you were before. Then the new item will be waiting at the base of the tree.
Actually, the easiest way is to just go to load profile. It’ll load you back into the game, same spot. Don’t need to quit at all.
I ended up quiting the game so my previous load is probably gone. I rapidly pushed x not paying attention and just picked up whatever was on the ground assuming she traded already.

like level 2-2 i think, has a spot where like 5-7 lizards are all grouped together…i jumped down and firestormed them all and kill ALL of them…i loled…

I had a Holy Shiznit Demon’s Souls experience right now.
I was on 4-2 and you are down in a pit to fight a NPC Black Phantom, I was on the other side of the room thinking of my gameplan. My game then was invaded by a player Black Phantom, I was like crap hell no I’m not fighting both of them. I have never fought a player Black Phantom before because most of the time I’m in my dead form. I tried to cast evacuate and leave to the Nexus, but it would let me do it, so I hit him with a fire spell and then he started rolling like crazy to dodge the rest of the magic attacks.
I switch to my Falchion +1 and made Deli slices out of him quickly. LOL
That is the first time I have been invaded and I won, so now I am happy even if I lose the nest several times.
I’m not going to lie, my heart was racing like crazy from the time my screeen flashed that I was invaded until the time I killed both Black Phantoms and evacuated to the Nexus.
I have only been invaded once, and I randomly came up behind the guy and backstabbed him and kicked him off a cliff. I have mostly been playing offline to preserve my World Tendency, but if I farm enough ephemeral eyes in 5-2 this time around I might start playing online again. Even if my tendency resets the only worlds I really care about being pure black are 4 and 5, and even then as long as I can get world 5 to pure black I can get infinite stones.
so, if you completely beat a level like 1 or 2 and their main bosses, is it possible to go back to them and try to make them pure white???
you can probably go back to them and make them pure black…i was wondering about white…nor do i know how exactly that works, ive been looking through the strat guide and it doesnt really explain it 100%…
then i honestly cant even tell what level or whiteness the level is cause some of them are shinning pretty bright but it wasnt pure white or over 90%…

Pure White is hard to figure out just by looking. The only way is to check for Pure White World Tendency events that you haven’t done yet and the only way to raise your World Tendency is to get invaded so it’s a bit random. Other than that, there is no way other than New Game+.
Finally on New Game+ and wow, so many black phantoms invading ;_;
Can any1 link some high lv demon souls vids. I like to see this game in action before I buy.
well from what i can see the only way to change WT to white is to beat the major type of demons…and some special black phantoms…also the first time you meet ostrova can you just kill him and loot the key??? or can only enemies kill him and then you have to loot his key???

if you are in soul form, it helps to co-op when going for WT. In body form, if you help blue soul forms to fight bosses, it increases WT. I was able to have pure WT in my first play through, now im off to BT.
I saved Ostrava in 1-1 Went back later after visiting another level and he was still in there walking around. I killed him, got the key. I go to 1-2 and he is in there again needing to be saved. I saved him again and now he is sitting on that bridge in the Nexus.
World tendency works like this:
Worlds start at +0. You can raise or lower it to +3 (pure white) or -4 (pure black). So if you are in pure white or pure black it is easy to calculate how much you need to get to the other.
Getting pure black is easy, just repeatedly die/suicide in body form (-1) in the desired world until you get pure black. Keep in mind that world tendency changes will not take effect until you return to the nexus, so you might want to go back to check every couple deaths so as to not waste your ephemeral eyes if you don’t know exactly what your tendency is. Pure black is easily distinguishable from other world tendencies, although I did confuse myself once because -3 and pure black are somewhat similar-looking.
To get pure white, you can simply never die in body form in that world and beat 3 bosses, but even if you miss this chance you can still get pure white as long as one boss remains. Simply get pure black, then kill the named NPC black phantom and the primeval demon hidden in that world. They are worth +3 each, so you will be left at +2 and can simply kill the next boss and get pure white. Check the wiki for their locations. Keep in mind you have to kill both of these enemies without returning to the nexus. You can die and respawn at an archstone, but if you kill one of them and go back to the nexus the +3 to world tendency will take effect and the other will disappear. You can only kill each of them once per game, so even if you go back down to pure black you won’t be able to get to pure white through this method anymore.
IMO these are the best methods, since messing with black phantoms is uncontrollable and you risk dying in body form and getting -1 tendency and random online tendency glitches. I highly recommend saving the last boss for each desired world and then going from pure black to pure white. Just playing through the game will get you more than enough ephemeral eyes to do this, and you can always suicide right after defeating a boss to cancel out the increased world tendency and reduce the number of ephemeral eyes needed to reach pure black.

im not sure if thats exactly how pure white works because in stage 3, i died in human form, but then played it out through soul form and when i beat the last boss and went back to nexsus it was pure white…didnt do any of the stuff you described after i died…

There are other things that can effect world tendency, mostly related to black phantom invasions and such, but what I posted is the basic and easy methods/information to get both pure white and pure black. You can read more about it here http://demonssouls.wikidot.com/world-tendency but it’s based on the Asian version and has a lot of talk about various patches and information needing to be verified. What I posted was based on this and has been tested thoroughly by me to successfully get pure white and pure black world tendency in the US version for several playthroughs. The game is also known to have some world tendency reset glitches online, at least in the asian version, so I did it all while playing offline.
So when you start a new game+, do you get to keep items, souls, magic, etc.
So after I killed the Penetrator, I went through the gates and there were 3 glowing red guys that i assume to be these npc black phantoms people are talking about
My tendency for world 1 is very bright, and since i have these guys, does that mean ive got white world tendency now?
btw i had similar guys spawn on world 2 i went down an elevator and 2 red dudes start charging down the shaft towards me, i freak the shit out thinking its 2 players coming to gank me and piss bolt back to the elevator and turn the crank just before they get to it
was too scared to go back down at the time, until i figured it out and went back and killed them in like 5 hits
