You can farm some souvenirs at the painted world, the big ass crows got their drop rate increased, I would 2-3 a run after 1.05 on the 360.

DOOOD that one is going to take at least 2 playthroughs. You have to be careful near the end because the fat guy who introduces you to covenants will be out to kill the maiden if he’s still alive. I would recommend killing him the instant he turns useless.

I missed the part about healing being frowned upon when fighting invaders. Guess I should save those estus flasks anyway since most of these guys are one-shotting me with magic.

I had an invasion where the host kept running away to heal himself after every hit, but he was clearly a newb so I let him go each time. After a few minutes or so I think he ran out of Estus and realized it was futile so he stopped moving and did the prostration pose in front of me. :lol: So I slowly walked up to him, did the wave gesture and gave him the final blow with the Murakumo.
I feel your pain, fam. Blightown is FAR worse than that poisoned world in Demon’s Souls. As for the Great Hollow, I died and got cursed quite a bit before I got down there. You want to see fucked up? Try being at the beginning of Ash Lake, cursed down to 25% of the FIRST bar of your total HP. Kevin Hart voice ALL DAY! NO PURGING STONES! NO MOSS CLUMPS! NO FUCKING CLUE ON HOW I’M GETTING PAST THE HYDRA TO THE EVERLASTING DRAGON AND ALL THE WAY BACK TO FIRELINK SHRINE IN ONE PIECE! Pure fucking madness fam, but I lucked out. Had to play MGS with the Hydra and crabs, then I konami track and fielded (spoons and batteries on the controller all day, son!) it all the way to the everlasting dragon without getting killed. Got the dragon greatsword (tail) and prepared to die. I see the hydra in the distance, then it disappears all of a sudden, and I see my souls increasing! Either the damn thing killed itself or it glitched out! Konami track and fielded it back to the first bonfire (luckily), got my ass whupped by the big mushrooms for about 20 minutes, then finally made it back to the the top ladder right above the two cursed frogs. You think it’s a bitch getting down there? TRY getting back up the way you came. The return trip’s a bitch! Three more cursed frogs beat my ass for another ten minutes before I finally made it to the Great Hollow’s bonfire, and I have to go back down there sooner or later to get a ring I missed. Made it back to Firelink soon after and called it a night. I forgot what my soul level was at that point, but I had a +5 Halberd along with some pyromancy spells (STR/DEX/END build). NOTE: Pyromancy is the shit! Wandering Pyromancer all day!
I learned my lesson the first time. Now whenever I go to Ash Lake I only use the bonfire before the descent down the tree. That way if I make it to the Dragon covenant, I can just bone back.
I have a bunch of Souvenirs collected, but unfortunately am on the PS3. I’m assuming there is no cross platforming between the PC and PS3 versions, otherwise I’d givem to ya.
It’s only frowned upon if you aren’t trying to get through the area and just looking for 1v1 duels. If you are trying to get to the boss then by all means heal away, summon phantoms, do whatever it takes.
I disagree. I found world 5-2 much tougher than blight town. Maybe that’s because I was expecting a swamp of some type though, so I had mentally braced myself.
I’ll never forget my trip from The Undead Parish to Ash Lake. That was just…Memorable.
The great Hollow. Never again. Fuck it up the ass I’m never going back, the sword is not worth it. The covenant is not worth it. IT’S JUST NOT WORTH IT.
So I started a new character today after a long time of not playing this game. And damn I think I’m getting addicted again. This game is just so effing good.
I’m going to try a Hazama (Blazblue) cosplay build for the lulz (Dual wielding knifes with Chester’s set).
Also it pains to see me there still are so many griefers. Thank god I had a friend that could swap over all my mule’s items for this character. +5 Chaos knife to the spine always gets the job done.
Also if anyone on xbox needs resources let me know. I have 99 of all titanites (including slabs) on most of my characters. Even have 99 dragon head/body stones and hacked humanity for some reason lol.
Blighttown is a lot easier because you don’t have to fight nearly as much shit while in the swamp, there is quite a lot of dry land to stand on whenever you need to kill something. Some armor with decent poise makes it even easier, plus the rusted iron ring if you happen to have it.
Usually visit the Great hollow like, on the other half of the game lol. Usually just to gather quick dragon scales if I wanted to upgrade a moonlight greatsword abit without farming.
It’s a cool place to stumble upon, would have been better if they expanded on that area.
Ash lake is pretty much the coolest place in Dark Souls, it was definitely underutilized

I Ravioli step, I mash RB for Aux Bleed. I go for nothing but backstabs. If you’re in the 1% that survives the backstab, I am going to chainstab you. Rest assured I will invade your world and hunt you down no matter how much you hide. You can run, You can summon Phantoms to come to your aide but that just will not help you. I’m going to reap every last humanity you have and make sure you never kill that boss. I’m going to make life hell for you and kill you every last time, pointing down at you in the dirt every single time I destroy you.
