I love Dark Souls, but if it a sequel came out in 2014 with nothing but a few new covenants and some new spells, I’d be disappointed. That’s fine for DLC, not for a sequel. I don’t want FROM to feel like they’ve got a formula now and should just play it safe from here on out. As much as I enjoyed Viewtiful Joe, VJ2 felt kind of felt like a waste because it was damn near exactly like the first game. I loved CoD:MW at first too, now I don’t bother with the series because it doesn’t feel like I’m missing anything new. I don’t want that to happen to DS.
Besides, this isn’t quite like the situation with Silent Hill or DmC. It’s not like Namco handed the game over to another development studio entirely.
No one ever does that, haha…
I doubt that 1% of the people got past one person that wasn’t the Undead part,
now he is saying that… lol, its more for advanced, ha.
I think you will have that much freedom, but its gonna be like, you can go here… and then you can probably kill the person that says that.
Demon souls servers are still up. They were supposed to shut down but then they changed their minds out of good will.
For all we know, they can make the graphical leap while maintaining 30 fps. It’s all about proper optimization and Blighttown was just poorly optimized. Hence why they said “They’re disappointed that Dark souls was a unfinished game”. It’s one of those points. Though good thing it’s being released on PC so that we can get some mad scientists to just slap on a 60 fps fix and run it on a decent computer
I mean hey, it could be like Super metroid -> Metroid prime. Both two entirely different games, different people making it, not so bad transition to say the least. Of course on the flip side…it could be like that god awful Wii metroid game that was bad enough to not mention again.
I’m seeing more of the former, of course maybe not as extreme. As long as it’s a good game I can accept it.
*well maybe in ENB’s words, I’d accept the game as Dark Souls Gaiden if it’s that different.
Also about more on the video above. Where there’s a “main hero” and that a woman is to be his love interest.
If I think of it in a Dark souls way, you’re probably “not the main hero”. In my imagination, I’d imagine the possibility of fucking up that guy and the lady he likes for their wedding rings, which gives you the ability to flip around like a ninja.
so i just went and saw the hobbit today and wondered if anyone else here had seen it?
reason i mention it is because various points in the movie looked massively like they came straight out of dark souls. scenes looking exactly like anor londo and the painted world of ariamis, and the entire goblin colony scene was a mirror image of blight town. peter jackson must be a dark souls player too lol.
Um…It’s based off a fantasy novel released in the 1930s or so. Of course it’ll have some similarities to Dark souls. Hell I’d be almost sure that Mr. Miya was inspired by Tolkien’s stuff. He was said to be inspired by the Western fantasy genre/movies/book, whatever. It’s a very likely possibility.
I already felt like Dark Souls was too similar to Demon’s Souls, it was a great game but there was always that little bit of disappointment in the back of my mind.
I’d like to see them do something a bit more different this time around
yea i know that, the last part i was kidding mostly. the resemblance to the game though is undeniable. its pretty spectacular to see what the dark souls world could look like if it was ever a movie.
Having the audience read item descriptions
OR worse… having some one read them to you and letting that big brain piece it together.
lol
Tolk modernized that style of lore and put some original ideas in it, I think. I think calling those big guys troll was his idea, the orcs, and the litches and wraiths.
Fuck, i think hobbits its his too. Anyways, there is a lot he did.
I think blizzard made trolls the skinny ones. Before that, they looked weird and lived under bridges. Pay the toll= get boys hole( always sunny).
But, a lot of that stuff is shared.
I missed that, then. The Maiden always ended up at the church for me, then I used that red claw weapon to rob that bitch of massive humanity before I offed her for even more humanity.
You can hit them a few times with it for free humanity before they turn on you. I only ever used it when I had no use for an NPC anymore, I’d use that weapon to get as much humanity from an NPC as possible before killing them.
