The place is visually disgusting to the eye. It’s filthy.
Ah, I never got the chance to play Demon’s Souls.
I felt the same way about some of the areas in the Depths though. Those curse frogs freak me the fuck out for some reason. Like, I’m literally scared to get near them just because of the way they look. 
Depths/Blighttown is Dark Souls’ equivalent of Valley of Defilement.
But it’s nowhere close to it in terms of how wretchedly horrifying and miserable the place is, and I’ve never heard of anyone who wasn’t utterly disgusted when they were playing through it.
Yet if you’ve explored the whole place and spent some time reading item descriptions, understanding the lore etc., you can’t help but feel really sorry for everyone living there as you’d realize just how sad the whole damn place is.
And that is why, even though I abhor the thought of playing through it, Valley of Defilement was the best world for me because everything about it was brilliant.
I still hold Demon’s Souls in higher regard. I genuinely adored just about every minute of that game.
Yo so who bought the PC Version? I’m waiting to see if it goes on sale during BF or something.

Damn. That makes me wanna get a PS3 again just to try it out.
That’s what I love about Dark Souls. It always has such a menacing enviorment and the lore behind everything is so interesting. On top of the diverse and creative enemies, and the absolutely fucking BRILLIANT bosses. Actually, this game probably has some of my favorite bosses I’ve ever had the pleasure of taking down in a video game.
I can’t describe how awesome it felt to me to traverse into Ash Lake for the very first time. It was like an undiscorvered and barren wasteland of ocean that went on for eternity in all directions, not to mention the amazing sondtrack for the area as well. The developers of this game are brilliant in delivering a seamless, interesting, and amazing world to explore.

Im sure this is a dumb question but can you play Demon Souls now that the servers are offline? I never played it but loved Dark Souls to death so I was thinking about going back to play it even if it had no online. Thread title says its off line now though so I was curious.
dark souls is an awesome game
playing primarily for PC. Expansion is great, hope console players like it
You can still play the game offline, it just means you can’t summon players to help you and people cannot invade your game. Other things you’ll miss out on would be online world tendencies (which isn’t that important) and a boss fight that supposedly pits you up against an online player.

I think so. The DWGR is nerfed in this version.
I pulled my internetcable out to do the BB glitch, but apparently for no effing reason my xbox deleted the previous patch. So I had no choice but to download it. I haven’t tried the glitch yet but I doubt it still works.
