Demon's/Dark Souls Thread. Dark Souls II!

Okay so someone help me out…

I’ve cleared through the Bell Gargoyle and the Capra Demon. The next logical step to take would be the Depths, and I’ve gotten to the Gaping Dragon, but he just seems to have some one hit kill maneuvers vs me that make me feel like I shouldn’t be here. Am I in the right spot? I’m SL 26 or so and using the Drake Sword. I started as Hunter and have high Dex/Str as well as around 20 End and I’ve just recently started picking up Pyromancy magic. Using Hard Leather Armor with the ring that absorbs souls from dead people and the rusted iron ring.

Anyone have some tips for me?

theres really not that much to it, just run around and wait for him to do the face plant, hit him a bit and then back off wait for him to charge forward, then hit him again. if he starts flying just run away from him hes probably not gonna be able to hit you with the stomp.

also dont lock on

Sprint around a lot and wait for it to do the giant ass face plant. The run up and beat him up a bit and run away again. Run in a curved pattern away from it so its dashing attack doesn’t murder you. The only 3 attacks you should even be seeing is the face plant, the dash, and the flying. Those are the only attacks you really need to react to in a certain way.

I sprinted away from all of the attacks, its not hard you have a lot of room

If you cutoff his tail, he will waste time trying to swing the stub at you if you try to slash at him from the back. Usually once he faceplants you can run behind him and get free shots but he always run forward after it. If you have pyro spells, well you basically get free shots at him can easily take him down with it, that is if you went back and bought stuff after saving laurentius, so you can get more spells and upgrade the glove.

Niice, thanks guys. I beat him first try after that advice. I also used my homeward bone to immediately get back to bonfire to spend those 25k souls before I could lose them hah.

@LVP - If you’re at Kiln you’re pretty much at the last boss already.

@Irennicus - Try staying as far as possible while keeping him in sight (camera facing him) so you can learn his movements, how he prepares for the face plant, etc. Most if not all bosses have tells; use those to your advantage. This can be applied to pretty much every baddie in the game. Like I always said about DeS/DaS, this game is all about patience and smarts.

Went ahead and fixed that for you.

Alright Tomb of Giants has redeemed itself with that soul/humanity farming spot with the mini skeletons.

This was my favorite part of the game, thus far.

I was literally laughing out loud as he pathectically swung his stump, trying to lash me with his - by then my axe - tail.

He was an awesome looking creature. It was a shame he was so brain-dead.

i still think old king allant was the dopest boss fight from both games. i remember the first time he does that grab move and de levels you…beast mode. he walked around like a boss too like he didnt even give a fuck you were there. add that in with him making the most manly grunt attack sounds ever HAHAHAH.

Haven’t beaten the game (I’m told I’m close), but him and maiden astraea where crazy boss fights.

I think overall, Demon Souls had more dramatic bosses, but in the end they a lot more retarded looking bosses.
Like, I’m more impressed in designs of how the bosses look in Dark Souls. But Demon Souls had like more “oh shit” type bosses, ya’ know?
Ah, can’t really explain it. Basically, Dark Souls has more creative bosses, while Demon Souls had 2 or 3 REALLY good bosses.

Finally found a little joy in pvp. Darkmoon covenant wheee. Seems to be a lot of people my level range in Anor londo because I’ve found myself teamed up with another invader against the host and a few of his own phantoms more than once today. Pretty awesome having four or five people going at it in dark Anor londo.

ugh i fucking hate blighttown… where does one buy more pyro magic?

if you are coming from the drakes into blighttown, when you get to the bottom at the swamp there are some columns to your right towards the entrance of queelag boss fight. the pyro chick is around one of those columns.

I just started a new game, but not cause I feel like I fucked up.
I’m gonna go ahead and pretend I’m a Belmont and use only whips. No shields, and have throwing knives and use mainly miracle spells, while playing Castlevania music on the side.

My nerd powers have boosted up, but I don’t give a shit because I’m having like 40% more fun doing this.

Snagged the PS3 collectors off my boy for 40 so…fist time playing suggestions, comments, warnings and things to experience lol.

what melee weapon should i be using as a magician? i’ve just been hanging on to my short sword +1 and just relying on my magic to get me through most of the game.

I like this guy’sideabetter.

My personal favorite though is this.

The pyro chick will only appear if your Pyromancy Flame is +10 when going into Blighttown. Otherwise you gotta set Laurentius of the Great Swamp free from the Depths. When you’re going into the depths, he’s in room full of jars through the whole in the wall where you first face the Butcher—make sure you ROLL to destroy the jars. After Depths is finished, he’ll appear near Firelink Shrine

Later on you reach a blacksmith that can forge Magic based weapons that do magic damage, and have damage modifiers for your INT stat.
