Who knows? Maybe the fact that Examu opted to just put out an update for AH3 could imply that they’re working on something else (like Daemon Bride 2!?), and not AH4, just yet?

Allright, so… the game was “released on PC”, if you know what i mean…
Considering the status of the game i’m ok, Examu will not release this on console soon anyway.
Seems like emulation is worse than child porn now. Can’t even acknowledge its existence without having posts deleted by mods.
Pretty funny considering that:
- This game has no other reasonable way to play it. (Japanese arcade games always have this message at startup of “this game is only to be played in Japan” because of publishing rights issues so if you wanna be pedant about it, the only legal way to play this game is to move to Japan but you’d be wrong if you think Examu gives a shit about a few hundred people around the world who do this, or they’d be porting it to console already.)
- Emulation has always been a part of the FG scene – Didn’t Ponder resort to it for the greater good of developing the best netcode? And Capcom hired his service instead of sending him a cease and desist order – and the people who use it the most are also the biggest consumers when you give them a valid, comfortable and kosher option. (This has always been the issue with piracy in general. iTunes, Steam and some others realized it first and capitalized on it.)
I’d understand if we were spreading links around (we didn’t) or talking about operating the emulation itself (we didn’t) but just acknowledging it exists is not any different from acknowledging GGPO exists…

Calling those hacks emulation is the most idiotic thing I ever heard.

Yeah, this is not emulation. It’s just a hack, as the original boards are just Windows based PCs with some security encryption. So these releases are not much different than any regular pirated game.
Emulation IS piracy. It shouldn’t matter what it is. It’s an illegal copy of a game. Treat it as such.
So what exactly made this game so unpopular when it first came out?
There was a rumor that its unpopular status came from the runaway heavy nature of the game (wich is debatable since many chars are strong on runaway and rushdown tactics), but this is pretty much unconfirmed, my guess is that Examu simply didn’t push the game hardly
Well, for the original release you had to deal with the fact that it was on the EX-Board, so less arcades are going to buy it because of the cost of hardware, and AH2/3 are more popular so a lot of the ex-boards were running those two games.
I will also say that for me, playing this game on the ex-board takes away some of the fun. The ex-board is not good hardware and can barely keep up with this game (hell it lags on ah2 as well). It just doesn’t feel fluid. Watching the AG footage makes the game look a lot more fun because it is’t lagging all the time.
On that note- i’m not sure if I can post links (if I can I’ll edit the post), but the xb_loader (the application to run the exboard games on a regular pc) has had its github posted, and someone with an exboard posted the comdata needed to fix it up. I don’t know any c++ though, so I can’t fix it up :< The loader itself isn’t piracy or anything.
