A Scrub is what we used to call kids that went to the school on the other side of the track…, in the 90’s.
I vote that we change the term for weak players from Scrub to Slob Hoe
I like how most people use scrub, noob, and just being bad at the game interchangeably. The first time I learned what a scrub really was, would be when I looked at that Sirlin article.
It’s a pretty good read that would help out a lot of newer players. Everyone has there own personal views of what a scrub is but this article pretty much hits the head on the nail.
IMO, I believe a scrub is a person who doesn’t have the desire to try to improve there skills and mashes buttons in hopes of performing moves/combos.
Pretty sure TLC were right and this website and entire community are wrong.
A scrub is someone who cleans up the competition
It sucks that we already have a name for someone who sucks at the game(a noob, even though it’s supposed to mean someone who’s new to the game, but whatever), but people are using scrub for anyone that sucks. So if you play against someone who’s clearly good at a game, but bitching about legit tactics the whole time, and you call them a scrub, it may have no impact on their outlook.
It sucks that people bump 3-year-old threads for no reason.
