I just started playing this week and I’m having trouble getting db2 mb to pop the opponent up towards me.
After 1, f1, db2 mb the opponent always floats up away from me, rather than towards me like in all the combo videos I’ve been watching.
I am new to the mortal kombat scene and thoroughly confused about this. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Another question: how does one execute a “cancel” / “xx” in a combo thread?
For example in the f2, 1, 3 xx d, f, 2 string, do I simply input the escrima fury very quickly after the 3 in the f2, 1, 3 combo, or is there a special button to press to execute a cancel?
Basically, I’m wondering what exactly a “xx”/cancel means. Thanks!
You’re canceling a normal into the special. There’s no special button you press. You just input the Escrima fury directly after the string while the string is still coming out.
The easiest way to see is to use the d12 string. do d12 xx Escrima Fury really quickly. Or to put it in a way you’d understand, do d12 and IMMEDIATELY input Fury. So like this essentially.

I’m also having a bitch of a time hit confirming into escrima fury online. Any tips?
If you have a bar, you can always use MB flipkick to “hitconfirm” safely. Worst case scenario you get a free mixup. That being said, it’s really easy to visually hitconfirm off of b1,1. Online is weird, it makes easy things like hitconfirming mad hard. Most of the time you just gotta deal with it.
